I think it is offering to buy back its own issued bonds (loan notes), which given it is cash rich is probably a good idea.

100.50 traded about an hour ago, since when buying has taken it above 102.

Looking for something positive, there is now a possible double bottom on the chart - 100.40 in May and 100.50 this afternoon. Traders COULD use it as a base for a rally. We'll see.

Gordon Brown just interviewed live on 231, putting huge 'moral' pressure on the gov't to act "in the next few days" to do all kinds of things to support/sort out all the economic and health problems facing the UK at the moment. This is at all levels, in every nook and cranny of individual/family/corporate life. He thinks it can be readily funded by borrowing at current very low rates. Expect the BBC to push it all day, they love the guy!

Downing Street will be groaning...

Politicians who are no longer responsible to govern can do this kind of thing, of course, whether or not it's realistic. But his remarks will probably reverberate around the MSM and Westminster.

For anyone interested, the low this morning is 100.60, just above May's 100.40, as per my post on Friday. Even if there is a small bounce, owning these clearly remains at high risk of a breakdown.

The precise nature and cause of the latest Covid-19 tasting fiasco has not been made public. Surprisingly there has not yet been a leak to the Guardian.

How is it that chapter and verse has not been made public given the distress and anxiety being caused to those who fear that they may have been infected?

Starmer is self-isolating. He will not be in the chamber. Very untimely for him.

A Tory pygmy has quit, on principle. He was made an envoy by the buffoon.
