04/11/2007 20:23 | the problem with the credit crunch is that it has made the prospect of a takeover by private equity much less likely for now, but this could change of course and if the BOE starts to cut rates that will help, but for now I'm still watching personally | bountyhunter
04/11/2007 20:10 | This is and always has been a rock solid share....it must be one of the safest shares on the market today....even the credit crunch in August never fased it much.....its true potential has not yet come to light but far far safer than putting your money in a Bank deposit.....mind you I guess a bet on the Grand national safer than that at the moment!!!!!!! | aspers
20/10/2007 11:59 | when the credit crunch is over and/or the BOE gets it's act together and starts to lower interest rates this will be a good investment again, imvho ... until then I'm on the sidelines; having said that this may be more resilient than many in the face of last night's Dow decline (except probably for the oil and gas producers) | bountyhunter
19/10/2007 23:35 | I am in this for what is over the horizon......talk soon of takeover will push this above 450p.....well I guess I live in hope!!! | aspers
19/10/2007 18:18 | Guess the tanking of the DOW is the reason for today's drop in share price Any views on where we will be around year end? | fhmktg
11/10/2007 10:40 | Back aboard below 340p after a few months away.....this has and always will be a rock solid share, never really fell much during the previous months crashes and fingers crossed now for some bid activity.....guess thats a sure sign for it to fall then!!!!!! | aspers
09/10/2007 10:54 | NWG and PNN in Ecofin's Power and Water Investment Trust ECWO,ECWC,ECW havent moved yet and ECWC trade at a 13% discount to NAV so upward correction for ECWC pending IMHO. | praipus
09/10/2007 09:33 | NWG,PNN and KEL all on the way up. | sllab101
09/10/2007 09:21 | Seems to have sparked some interest! | fhmktg
09/10/2007 08:10 | Southern Water sold for £4.2bn. Will the losing bidder try for NWG on the rebound?? | alan@bj
05/10/2007 10:29 | Somebody has deep pockets this morning - 1m bought in five minutes Those large transfers suggest somebody is shifting a market position around. Hopefully supporting NWG! | fhmktg
03/10/2007 17:03 | Some chunky buying after the bell... | fhmktg
02/10/2007 12:55 | Praipus Double thank you - for the two projections. z | zeppo
02/10/2007 12:12 | Hi Zeppo Enterprise value for UU is about £12 per share IMHO. And looking at the turnover and profit figures a nice steady growth prevails. Just have to ignore the volatility. I know some institutions who think the value is toppy here but I wonder at their motive. P | praipus
27/9/2007 10:40 | Praipus I hope your projection is correct. Can you give us an enterprise value for UU., which I am also in? It is suggested that after the sale of their electricity distribution business they will be a more appealing takeover target. z | zeppo
27/9/2007 10:33 | Markie7 there is no bid premium here. Tobins Q is only .49 and enterprise value (takeover value) is £8 so plenty of upside IMHO. Also take a look at profit, turnover and asset growth....this beauty is significantly undervalued and probably the main reason Canadian Teachers Pension fund is stake building to block takeover types. | praipus
24/9/2007 17:12 | I have to admit that you may have a point there at least shorter term - I'm out for now with a small profit and the divi although maybe back when the credit squeeze is over when a takeover may look more likely again. | bountyhunter
17/9/2007 10:24 | PE ratio 15.3 Div 3.4% Cover 1.9x EPS growth 4% Div growth 6.7% All looks a tad toppy in these markets - suspect that £4 is not coming this year - or next? | fhmktg
17/9/2007 09:11 | might go short here - looks expensive if you take out the bid premium - bidders won't be able to raise the cash effectively in these markets. | markie7
09/9/2007 13:00 | SP has been surprisingly volatile on this one lately and I'm not quite sure as to why? Ok water is a defensive play when the cold market winds blow..........but is this a sufficient explanation? | ygor705
31/8/2007 16:34 | Great day and the gap was taken out. | sllab101
31/8/2007 15:35 | this is looking lively this afternoon | markie7
22/8/2007 07:58 | Ex div was the 15th. | sllab101 |
