Are the Environment Agency totally inept?

Good Morning.

Back from a refreshingly quiet week away and back to the front line today with one 3 year old arriving @7 am and a school run to pick her sisters up this afternoon!

Last Friday, I finished +1.66% YTD.

Yesterday, I finished up 0.71%.

I'm up +0.635% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.210%).

Best rises: IMB +5.75%, SGRO +5.52% and VOD +3.86%.

Worst falls: DGE -1.27%, SHEL -1.10% and BP. -1.07%.

They liked IMB's half year results. SGRO also perky. Oils unhappy.

A clean bill of health at the dentist today. Got a load of washing done.

I also expected a washout day but all we had was a little drizzle and then sticky brightness without any actual sun. 19.7C after 12.3C.

SUP, the only material faller.

Mostly dry, cloudy at times. Max 18C

Portfolio +0.79% , four very good gainers , BVIC and IMB on results, VOD results yesterday and a disposal, plus SGRO (interest rates) . Main fallers BP and SHEL with the oil price and TSCO

Lovely warm sunny day once that early cloud burned off. 21C

Sainsbury's this morning and prices are definitely edging up. Need the nectar card. Fairly busy. Couple of large chickens on yellow sticker @ £4.00 , top value , into the freezer.

Gave the lawns a quick tipping. Ordered a new pole cutter from GTECH. My old one has taken a right hammering over the last six years. Been a great tool.

Wok for the chicken stirfry , with crunchy veg, noodles and oyster sauce. Bottle of Merlot.

US consumer price reading this afternoon at 1:30pm.

FXStreet-cited consensus, consumer prices are expected to have risen 3.4% annually in April down from 3.5% in March.

Analysts at ING said the data will be "pivotal".

Quite a dip in Gilts yields this morning now suggest we're just about back to 7 and 3 x 0.25% rate cuts over the next two years, to finish possibly at 2.75%. Two MPC members seem to have fallen into line. How long can the other 7 resist market forces?

Good morning.

Very pretty, MrP. There was a beautiful blue wisteria at Temple Newsam's orangery when we went to check out the rhodadendrons on Sunday - and magnficent they were, too. Good job we did not wait until half-term when they would be spent. The heavy rain and then warmth has seen the late spring growth rapidly accelerate through the last two weeks such that some stuff is now running a little ahead of normal. Our cranesbill and firethorn is starting to flower.

Morning All.

It was dry all day yesterday until we arrived at the tennis court for 7pm when the heavens opened and left us standing under the trees for quarter of an hour waiting for it to pass. It eventually did and the court dries quick allowing us to get almost two sets in. 6-2, 4-4

Promised the Wisteria picture, having trouble getting to the front door at the moment!

Worst falls: TATE -1.32%, SHEL -1.23% and WDS -1.21%.

I have just woken up after a gentle snooze, after my evening meal. The oils seemed to be unhappy late in the day. Telecoms suddenly brightened up after VOD's finals.

Car MoT done this morning, clean bill of health. Dentist tomorrow, pain in the wallet.

Just had a visit for windows/doors replacements from a local company.. waiting for quote.

They really need updating as wooden and not great. Always summit to keep on top of with home ownership! Upstairs window gets battered in stormy weather and squeaks which is most annoying.. hopefully an upgrade will sort that!

Drizzly day. Changed that bike tube but went nowhere. Despite being cool, it had a very muggy feel to it. 18.1C after 13.8C.

Finished up 0.2%.

OTB down 15% biggest mover. Not exactly sure what they went up yesterday think it was the same. I used them to book this trip and yesterdays rise was enough to pay for most of it had I sold.

Gains at vlx/MRL/ULTP enough to get me above the line.

More blues than reds at the end of day,up 0.18%

Best risers OCDO still under water but now only 3%.

Worst faller MSHL,(thats what a tip by Questor in the Telegraph does for a share!)

Nice chunky div from OSB in my account today,

A damp day so no gardening.
