Hi fellas - bought today - had to pay a premium for 5K (141p) but looks worth it.

Looks very cheap and the 40% hike in H1 divu looks very confident. Wish I'd noticed these sooner but still happy buying at this level.

Likewise. They say H2 will be in line with H1 - should give EPS of 11.5p vs current forecast of 9.6p.

interesting co
picked up a few today as it looks cheap especially after land sale but that does depends on the cost of moving premises

Featured as one of the 25 Bargain Priced Companies on the LSE by Shares magazine today.

HNN: 114.5p (AIM)
Mkt Cap: £17m
PE: 10.9
PEG: 0.1

"This family run engineering company is a great success. Shares have zoomed from 17.5p in 2003 and look set to carry on climbing on the back of rising profits. These grew from £1.5m to £2.1m last year and should chalk up another record this year at £2.2m and £2.7m next year says house broker Brewin Dolphin. The company makes chemical sealants for the car and construction industries, process plant, design and manufacture for the aerospace and car industries and surface coatings. More acquisitions financed out of cashflow are likely and the dividend is expected to rise to 3.5p this year. This is probably some hidden value in land assets with the Coventry site being sold to Unite for around £8m versus £2m book value"

the buildings sale was good news but is dependent on planning consent being granted, a process which could drag on for years and then isn't assured. Also if the move does occur I have often noticed in cases like this there can be huge disruption to business continuity and seeing that the main bulk of their operating businesses will have to be transferred this could prove very problematic for profitability. All in all the share price at the moment looks fair but after the strong rises recently - someone must have got wind of this deal before it was announced to the market - it is probably best to at least take some profits.

well if nothing else it should certainly underpin the price...but i agree with you there is still some upside here and if they can move premises without much disruption and continue to make some decent profits to boot, they should be a decent medium-term hold. Personally I've held them for a few years now and enjoyed some very good gains over that time. Not quite sure what the timescale of the proceeds will be though assuming they get planning permission.

Not much interest following todas announcement. A little suprising considering that the sale could potentially raise them more than half their market cap from the disposal of the property. Will expect it go at least another 10% higher once people figure out whats going on.

Should be way north of 100p shortly. Have a look at EDD another little gem like this one.

they "process coat impregnate & finish metal surfaces".
sales have been creeping up over the last 3 years, and they made an acquisition in December (but it won't help the 06 results).
Final results due later this month, interim profits were good but they were a bit cautious "whilst the summer months have been relatively slow we remain encouraged by the groups underlying performance".
If they report earnings per share of 8p and dividend of 3p for the whole year the p/e would be 11 and the yield 3.5% with the shares at 86p (these numbers are just my guesses).
the shares are up a lot this year already so they are obviously anticipating better results.....I think I will pass on this one for now

difficult for forecast how well this group will do sometimes as they always seem to be very cagey and non-comittal in any statements they publish...and sometimes downright pessimistic, but as far as one can tell, at 65p they still seem to be extremely good value if you go by historical performance. Quite how they are fairing in current trading is unknown for the time being and that is one of the risks that always seems to be assiciated with investing in them. I'm going to continue to hold and may very well consider buying more if things continue to look favourable.

While reading message boards a while back I found a gem. A newsletter that is dedicated to profiling little known issues. The list is 100% double opt-in to ensure that the members are truly looking for a lead.

It is certainly worth a few minutes of your time to take a look.

Toad Group has Norman-esque characteristics in that market cap of 7M is backed by 3.5M of property and pro-forma PE of 7ish. There are other interesting assets such as a 25% stake in a CCTV company.

Well considering there are only 3 private investors in the UK that hold this share! Anyway the results have been good but I think the undervalued property assets have helped as well. Ive noticed several similar companies backed with property (eg. API) being re-rated.

Looks like you were a little premature in your damning stan.
