Qs99, thank you for your reply. I am hopeful of a better set of results, having been here for over 10 years, averaging down, and sitting on a large paper loss. Downings timing is strange to say the least. I would have waited if I was them until after results, unless they know something that we don't.

Because 2D as I understand it DSM are winding down their business, so selling ALL the stakes they hold. THAT is problematic for a company of NBB size as a material holding shown to MMs in an illiquid stock could see it halve in value overnight IMO.....desperate seller etc etc....

so offloading it with no material move on share price IMO is a good news story...>DYOR

Now just to offload the other half!

Cheers

surely they would wait till after results, which hopefully are better, the share price rises and then they sell out at a higher price...Maybe I am dim and don't get it, buck to sell out now, males no sense.

qs99, why is this good news, selling at this point just before results is not a good sign.

Some good news. Canaccord have picked up around half of Downing's holding per today's RNSs.

Downing down to 7.28% as a result.

Looks a really interesting tiddler....its net cash should be increasing with its increased EBITDA delivery IMO and if it is on track to deliver £1.25m EBITDA in 2025 one year out, then it is IMO sitting on a very good value EV/EBITDA....it may also look for some M&A, or organic hires to bolster/deliver that EBITDA

Have taken a small position on that basis over last week or so...DYOR

Depends whether it was actually a buy - as you say, if it was it's an odd reaction but it'll be worth checking a couple of dummy quotes in the morning to get a feel for current demand/supply. There could also be a trade not yet reported.

Separately I read on the RFX board that Downing Strategic Microcap fund is selling down completely (hat tip to hpcg) and they hold about 14% here per the Holdings RNS of 22nd Jan so we presumably need another institutional holder to step up and take them.

Could create a buying opportunity if you believe the story here.

"we are increasingly confident in our ability to overachieve against our previously stated target of GBP1.25m of EBITDA in 2025."

A fitting way to close another very positive update this morning.

It may be that they have sold to another fund/s in an agreed sale.
We cannot be sure,

Am I the only one here! Was not sure what to make about the 2 x RNS notes today. It appears to me that both holders sold a stake in the company and yet the price remained the same.

when bid is shown as 5.50, currently 6.25 and to buy 7.00p and to add to it, it is shown as a sell. Please explain.

red ninja, cheers, so how do you see the share price going, if they can sell the shares at 7p, hardly endorsing a growth in share price. Happy to be corrected.

A vote of some confidence when you get conversion of CLNs.
Also a debt reduction.

Thus broadly positive.

Any comment on todays news??

For those looking in, the company does not have a large free float of shares on the market as many are held by directors etc, so this share can move up and down rapidly on very low volumes of trades.

The road to continued improvement seems to be working. Maybe after 20 years of being here, under many changes of name, strategies etc, maybe , we can see some light.

Is the holding notification today, a new holder or is this the company tidying up its administration?
