26/8/2015 12:25 | NMC announced closing of the ProVita acquisition yesterday: Dr. B.R. Shetty, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NMC Health, commented: "I am pleased to announce the closing of NMC's acquisition of ProVita. As one of the largest providers in the long-term care market, ProVita meets the under-serviced demand for long-term care facilities in the UAE, which is expected to see substantial growth. The acquisition complements our strategy of being an integrated healthcare provider with centres of excellence across healthcare specialities and along the care pathway and fills the gap between short-term care offered by NMC's existing facilities and homecare service provided by the recently acquired Americare Group. The acquisition also supports our strategic expansion in Saudi Arabia and Qatar as ProVita progresses towards entering these markets." | aishah
26/8/2015 12:22 | From TMI August issue: "Having made three acquisitions in as many months you’d think management would have their hands full but not a bit of it with the latest deal being the purchase of Provita, a provider of long-term medical care in the UAE for US$160.6m cash. Provita operates 90 long-term care beds in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, with a further 30 expected to become operational in Abu Dhabi by Q3 ’15. This will take NMC’s bed capacity from 720 to 840 beds. As well as giving NMC another important string to its bow the deal is immediately eps enhancing; Provita generated adjusted net profit of US$9.1m in the year ended December ’14, while unaudited accounts suggest net profit was US$10.7m in the 12 months ended 31 March ’15. Broker Jefferies has raised 2015-2017 eps forecasts by between 14-16% from 56, 66 and 78 cents to 61, 75 and 90 cents. Suddenly, next year’s prospective PE is now an inexpensive 16.6, particularly as Jefferies thinks even more deals are in the pipe." | aishah
