15/11/2022 15:23 | Also, NICL do not have a good track record with acquisitions. Too many itsy bitsy acquisitions which end up in restructuring and write downs. I agree better to invest in promoting existing core products through existing or incremental distribution channels. | disneydonald
15/11/2022 15:11 | They have ample scope to expand organically outside of the UK. Africa could see explosive growth IF they manage that well. Not keen on acquisitions for NICL with organic opportunity available. | essentialinvestor
15/11/2022 15:08 | Dividend payout was reset to lower level as management wanted to reinvest more capital into the business; acquisitions. However, no white smoke so far. Worth noting that earlier share buyback was for staff share scheme(s), so those shares have not been cancelled and will reappear over next few years as schemes vest. So, if no acquisition on the horizon then maybe shareholder distribution next year as cash builds up, either via special or more buy backs but cancelled this time. Any views. | disneydonald
15/11/2022 14:56 | Valuation perhaps the main headwind here besides chastened consumer spending. | essentialinvestor

15/11/2022 14:23 | FWW, anecdotally, I was in the local Booth’s supermarket just ambling down the soft drinks aisle checking on how Vimto was doing. As usual they appeared to be easily outselling Robinson’s. A member of staff was just restocking the shelves and I asked how Vimto brand does compared to Robinson’s etc. She said Vimto is by far the most popular, and she restocks the shelves two or three times a day, whereas Robinson’s only needs restocking once every couple of days. She also mentioned that they could not get supplies of Vimto for two weeks a month or so ago, yet there were no more sales of Robinson’s squash. Interesting why they couldn’t get supplies. Still, anecdotally, encouraging for UK squash sales. Noticed no trading update this November. Suppose if nothing to say that’s good news, everything on target for year end. | disneydonald

27/7/2022 07:39 | John Nichols, Non-Executive Chairman, commented: "I'm pleased to report an encouraging financial performance in the first half of the year with 27% increases to both Adjusted PBT(1) and the half year dividend. In the UK, the Vimto brand continues to outperform the broader squash market, and the Group's Out of Home route to market experienced good growth as the wider leisure sector continues to recover from the impact of the pandemic. After some disruption to shipments affecting our International business in Q1, I am pleased to report a recovery in Q2 which has so far continued into the second half of the year. Whilst the Group is not immune to the significant and accelerating inflationary pressures impacting the consumer and the soft drinks market, we have taken swift mitigating actions where possible and the Group's Adjusted PBT(1) expectations(2) for the full year remain unchanged. The Board remains mindful of the potential earnings impact of continued inflation into FY23 and beyond. We have a long-term track record of growth, a proven, diversified strategy, and a quality range of brands. All of this is underpinned by a strong balance sheet. As a result, the Board remains confident that the Group is well positioned to deliver its long-term growth plans." | cwa1
20/7/2022 17:30 | Guess we'll find out a little more next Wednesday re half year results. Last update confirmed business is confident of meeting consensus for the year, even with some inflationary and supply chain headwinds. Notwithstanding the above, also be interesting to see if they are making any progress on acquisitions and cash position. | disneydonald

12/5/2022 19:36 | If you look at the actual prices , the spread is usually reasonably tight , it's just a small company, but the indicative spread is usually wrong. Good to see a strong performance , rather better than most of my portfolio. | wad collector
01/5/2022 14:14 | Is there a reason why there is such a big spread on buy sell here ? | sponges |
