"Detailed discussions have taken place with many potential interested parties to seek an offer for the entire issued share capital of the Company or its technology. The Board of Directors is not optimistic that these discussions
will reach a successful conclusion.

To date no interest has been expressed by any party in the hardware products of the Company."

That's it.

It's all over for NNG.

The shares are worthless and TM will take a hit of over £2m to ensure that the company is wound up in an orderly manner.

Yep, that pretty much seals and deals the company. My only last hope is taken from the fact that TM continues to fund the company. Why would he throw good money after bad given the precarious situation? I'm staying in till the end.

I think NNG could be the worst company in the world. Matthews started this company about 7 years ago. Since then theyve raised and spent over £50M developing a product no-one seems to want. Not at any price. No interest whatsoever from any other company in their hardware products.

wolterix ... no offence taken ... since bailing out between 3 - 2.8p i have watched this being ramped all the way down to current levels. The market is sometimes wrong but most of the time thinks go on in the background and PI's are always the last to know.

Not saying this is happening here but what a drop !!

Exactly, catman66. Too many people assume it's sell or bust. It just isn't as starightforward as that, there are other options available to the company. Watch this space....

As time passes I wonder if the market will catchup with NNG technology?

Sir Terry was previously ahead of the game with ADSL broadband multiplexers...

Carriers rolled-out the cheapest DSLAM's (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers) quickly and at low cost, in order to provide subscriber broadband services, "just like ACME now!", only to find.... the market actually needed Terry's technology in order to deliver valuable broadband services. So, when the market woke-up, Terry's beloved Newbridge was sold to Alcatel (one of the biggest low cost DSLAM manufactures) for a staggering $7 billion! back in 2000.

I'm wondering, with NNG costs slashed to almost nothing and voice over IP carrier services still poised to happen, is there a chance that NNG can survive this period of hibernation, to reappear in splendid glory, having won a, long awaited, global carrier VoIP contract??

INHC: we'll have to agree to disagree.

Sharewinner. Admittedly i have just plucked the 1.2p a share figure out of the air. Ultimately with NNG it is very hard to value. It's a cliche but it's only worth what a company is willing to pay so who knows how much? I hope you see at least a small profit from your shareholding.

Good luck

Just for fun, estimating a take out price for share price 1.2p being your guess, that would give a total sale price of £4,398,993, I would like to think that someone would pay more (mabye that is just wishful thinking on my part). They have spent £20million on R&D, I'm sure from memory do they not have something like £10million due in tax credits if they manage to make some sales of the product? I find it very hard to hazzard a guess but do think it may be worth more to someone.
My average is 1.67p and as things stand I would be pleased to break even, thinking of a possible profit, well not sure if that makes me an optimist or just deluded. Only time will tell.
G.L. to all that hold.

fair enough IHNC, but have to correct you on a couple of things, simply because I was corrected in the same way? it's not TM as such providing the loan facility, it's his company, Wesley Clover, and not sure that TM is personally a billionaire either. With regard though to 'emotional attachment' - I thought TM used emotive words in recent RNS 'disappointed' 'tempered by OEM' and so forth

don't expect an rns on progress soon in truth, think it costs money to do so, but would hope that they are making progress on their software development

but because of the unique nature of this loan facility (not self-funding as such); I don't expect they are going bust - also whereas their original offer to the market may have been a bit off key, at the same time I'm guessing that the way that computer/server processing power moves exponentially it would seem, the delays in getting parties to sign on the dotted line has brought this on, and so now albeit a bit tardy maybe, they are adapting to this at the request of the market

at the same time they have put the for sale sign up, and I take this as wanting to return shareholder value back if that's what people want, but when a co is 'sold' nobody then walks away with suitcases of cash after handing over the keys! they will carry on with their R&D for the new company, leaving holders to make their choice in whether to buy shares in the new company so to speak

more they beaver away adapting, the more saleable they become

finally perception in the UK is still pretty non-committal to IP telephony I still think, my first experience of it is when my wife's uncle (farmer in Brazil) rang home at Xmas using skype and this was a four years ago or so - not sure we had 'blade servers' back then? anyway, if the future is IP telephones making international calls cheaply and efficiently and this requires their bit of technology, which I still think is the case (bwtfdik?) then I don't think this company is dead just yet

apologies for the long post, just my thoughts obviously and no offence intended

cl2201 ... i think you have rose tinted specs on ... you say ...

"Ask yourself why would TM give a 2m loan facility to a company he knew was destined to fail. The answer: He wouldn't, he has no intention of folding the company."

What is £2m to a billionaire ? Not a lot .. chump change. He may have propped it up through pride alone .. hoping that he was right all along ... but if he was right all along they wouldn't be in this current mess.

"The technology is solid. There is quite simply no person more connected in this field of technology than Sir Matthews. He knows a company would be willing to pay big bucks in exchange for the intellectual property of NNG. Remember more than 20m has been spent on R+D."

As far as i have read the technology is too large and is practically out-of-date already. All you have said simply goes along with the pride thing. £20m invested so is the £2m throwing good money after bad ? Will he just cut his losses ?

I am fond of NNG simply as i made 180% profit and then walked away. Since then the share price has collapsed 93%. You have to realise that sometimes you are flogging a dead horse and may have become emotionally attached to a share.

I wish you well but i can only really see this going one way.
