28/9/2007 09:16 | Great results. Huge drop in share price. Where's the logic ? | bobb49
12/7/2007 22:01 | not bad in 20 months I guess | homewell
05/7/2007 19:14 | Some huge buys/sells went through late yesterday. Anyone got any ideas what's going on ? | bobb49
13/6/2007 10:20 | 490 (previous close) x5 = 2450, -625p return = 1825, /4 (consolidation) = 456.25p, so a good rise in a negative mkt today. | spectoacc
13/6/2007 09:56 | No posts on this for a while; notice they went ex on cash return & consolidation today, I reckon "new" price should be 456p but open to debate on it. So although showing -4.5% are actually trading up a dozen pence on the day. For info: New Star Asset Management Group PLC ("New Star") announces that earlier today (12 June 2007) the Court confirmed the Capital Reduction relating to the proposed return of approximately 364 million to shareholders (the "Proposal") and the associated Scheme of Arrangement became operative. All other conditions to which the Scheme of Arrangement is subject have now been satisfied or waived and as a result the Proposal is now effective. As a result, New Star has become a wholly owned subsidiary of a new holding company, New Star AM PLC ("New Star AM"). Those New Star shareholders who were on the register of members of New Star at the Scheme Record Time are now shareholders in New Star AM. New Star AM has today changed its name to New Star Asset Management Group PLC. New Star has changed its name to New Star Asset Management Group Holdings Limited. Cancellation of admission of New Star Shares to trading on AIM is expected to occur tomorrow. Admission and dealings in New Star Asset Management Group PLC Shares on the Official List are expected to commence at 8am tomorrow (13 June 2007). | spectoacc
25/5/2007 11:00 | Many thanks to both. Your comments/thoughts are much appreciated. | bobb49
25/5/2007 07:50 | bobby49 - I see it going mildly up in the run up to listing on the main market (13 June) and shortly after that I think will start drifting lower due to the summer months ("sell in May and go away"). In September they will be admitted in the FTSE 250 and automatic buying by the index tracking funds will start and this will lift the share price Long term this stock is an excellent holding. They haven't disappointed so far | thecoolvoice
25/5/2007 07:49 | Positive Tempus comment on NSAM today (Scroll down below Invesys coverage for view on NSAM) | saucepan
24/5/2007 21:09 | For what it is worth, this looks to me like a young company that is growing strongly; hence, the prospects of a bright future and corresponding share price growth must be very good. The Rolling PEG-1 of NSAM is just 0.37, even after today's rise. That is the value that attracted me. Nevertheless, it as well to heed the caveats in today's AGM statement. Nothing is a certainty with shares! | saucepan
24/5/2007 19:39 | Good call ! Any thoughts on the future ? | bobb49
24/5/2007 11:22 | This is definitely a breakout. The move to the main market helps and the momentum is clearly with NSAM | thecoolvoice
24/5/2007 08:20 | An excellent AGM statement, helping us to break through 500p. I expect more, when analysts have had chance to digest. | saucepan
22/5/2007 18:49 | Is trying for a breakout for the last couple of days maybe tomorrow another go. It's the highest end of day finish so far. | thecoolvoice
21/5/2007 08:22 | Breaking out today? | saucepan
17/5/2007 13:04 | Hi to thread regulars. I went long today at 490.5p. NSAM emerged last night through my ShareScope filters as a value/momentum play breaking to new 52-week highs. | saucepan
15/5/2007 16:23 | Sorry Maiseymouse. I cannot make head nor tail of it ! Can you translate please ? | bobb49
15/5/2007 12:45 | apparently the market has got the valuation wrong - this could have been written by John Duffield himself | maiseymouse
14/4/2007 15:15 | do you know when this money will be distributed to the shareholders as I am sure that will affect the share price. Does anyone agree? | brandon
07/4/2007 18:50 | As I understand it the shares still qualify. If they didn't the price would have gone down to reflect it. I stand to be corrected however !I do agree that it is a company with great prospects. Good Luck. | bobb49
07/4/2007 13:05 | too late now-I bought 2 lots a day apart---one lot only qualified. long term I feel this is a great company to hold. | moormoney
07/4/2007 04:57 | can one still buy share and receive the 120 per share or did you have to hold the shares at the ceertain date? | brandon
01/4/2007 11:45 | one of the good thing about the selling of shares is that it will increase liquidity. yes selling 46m shares had an effect on the share price but it will be short lived. | thecoolvoice
30/3/2007 12:52 | and why not? Still a star | phillis
30/3/2007 09:06 | So let me get this right... The news article (post 46) says - "The payout rewards shareholders and is a way for Duffield and his lieutenants to take money out ... without selling their shares, which are worth around £600m on paper."... ...And today they announce that they are now selling a sh*t load of shares as well !! | bangsi |
