25/3/2007 23:04 | Interesting article in the Observer : "According to analysts, the firm's investors will collect about 120p a share. "One broker said: 'The payout rewards shareholders and is a way for Duffield and his lieutenants to take money out ... without selling their shares, which are worth around £600m on paper.' Looking forward to the results and 120p a share. Very strong buy and a real star * | thecoolvoice
31/1/2007 09:04 | v strong performance - a star! | phillis

08/12/2006 14:14 | Not really sure why it is. I know they've launched a new product recently that has a very high minimum investment amount (£5 million i think) Other than that I don't really know. I'm not complaining though!!! Lets hope it continues! | hardy_ed
07/12/2006 18:56 | nice rise today.. any suggestions why? | bung77
06/11/2006 09:25 | That should aleviate any pressure on the shares from Director sales. they are basically saying that they wont sell at this price. | liquidkid
31/10/2006 08:29 | 31 October 2006 New Star Asset Management Group PLC ("New Star") Purchase of New Star shares New Star announces that on Monday 30 October 2006 it purchased on market for cancellation 850,000 Ordinary shares of 5p each in New Star ("New Star shares") at an average price of 371.3676p per share. 18/10/2006 16:14 | I reckon its a combination of staff sales and they also lost quite a bit from the US outlaw on Internet Gaming. Quite a few of their retail funds held Partygaming, 888, and Sportingbet. The forecast however looks good for Newstar. They're launching a new Hedge Fund Tracker product in November, its called the "Hedge ETS" and its the first of its kind. Hopefully people will be pouring money into it which should bump the price up nicely. What are peoples thoughts on Newstar generally? I think it'll push to 500 before 2007. | hardy_ed
14/10/2006 04:22 | any views on why New Star's shares didn't perform after its good results, apart from the staff sales? | rafflesman4
05/10/2006 15:53 | when the down turn? | bung77
03/10/2006 10:24 | On Gambling; Stephen Whittaker, joint chief investment officer at Britain's New Star Asset Management, said the likely ban could be challenged. "This represents protectionism, and the WTO have said you can't do that," said Whittaker, whose portfolio includes about 2 percent of online gaming stocks. "Overall, we'll probably remain with most of our holdings." "We'll probably reduce one, maybe two," he added. "We want to let the dust settle a bit -- it will take a few days." That means...they need to get the hell out. | liquidkid
23/9/2006 19:07 | ..but not for long | phillis
21/9/2006 18:43 | Friday's the day- 425p at least! (see post 21 above) | ben gunn
01/9/2006 16:22 | Finally a bit of volume dragging this up. expectation beating results just around the corner. | liquidkid
21/8/2006 18:43 | Any one know what is going on here. Are the company employees dumping their shares? | brandon
31/7/2006 15:51 | So those clowns at Amvescap can beat expectations as they did last Thursday, and the cowboys at RAB capital also did so on Friday, then surely in the middle of it the New Star AM dream team can do pretty well coming up soon. Well it has been just as much said by them with certainty that they're in the money. Goes along with that one of their core holdings is EMG - no downturn there. | liquidkid
27/5/2006 01:15 | Decided to take my medicine and realise a near 3.0% loss. Thought the start of a recovery was about to take hold on Tuesday but hasn't materialised. Although the share price finished up today I was disappointed that on such a strong day for the market as a whole, NSAM managed only a rather pitiful rise. Got shafted by the MMs on the purchase price. Out via a limit sell order rather than at best, which worked better. Seem to get poor prices "at best" online. Must watch for that in future. Lot of AT trades here - presumably computer generated program trades. The spike down at about 11.30am was on little volume. Glad I checked the volume before selling and deferred the sell and got a higher price in the afternoon. Been investing in AIM stocks in the main, but with high market volatility at present prefer to be in larger cap stocks. | scumdog
26/5/2006 17:59 | Seems a bit turbulent today.I shall see what happens on Monday because the share price could drop as it is hard to gauge resistance levels with a share that does'nt have much chart history.LOL to all holders. | kidney
26/5/2006 13:33 | Not impressed with the strength of the share price at present. Probably made a mistake buying earlier in the week. | scumdog
18/5/2006 18:47 | it bounced back up quite quickly-wouldn't be surprised to see it back at it's highs fairly soon. this is a quality company probably making money even faster in these markets!! | moormoney
18/5/2006 11:53 | Highly rated stocks are taking the heat today, and this is one of them, unfortunately. Won't see 470 again any time soon. | kingfast
11/5/2006 13:38 | No idea, I only bought a small holding as I was put off by the very high PE ratio. just goes to show that PE counts for nothing when a company is making bucket loads of cash and is debt free. Earnings is King and at the AGM and annual reports we will see where they are at... | mark smith
10/5/2006 17:10 | what a performance from this share-quality will out!! any forecasts as to how far this will go?? | moormoney
21/4/2006 18:34 | Mark, Nice to see your postings. You display a level of knowledge which I do not possess. However, that said, it is my view that the small investor has now got the confidence to re-enter the market and to this extent NSAM can only do well. I hold these as well as New Star Global Financials. Good Luck. | bobb49 |
