For any other CFD holders, IG just told me that when the offer cash comes in a couple of weeks, the long will be closed. That is fine for me, well if you dont count the huge loss inflicted by the NSAM criminals who lined their own pockets at the expense of PIs.

I was told by my broker that if i didn't wan't to sell, the shares would be very hard to trade. you may be lucky and get a better price or you may not. i brake even at 2p so i decided to take the money and move on

So we meet again then, Doorway, in yet another loss-making venture! I'm holding on to my NSAM til the last knockings.

there has to be a combined percentage that say yes to the 2p offer,if they dont get that percentage i cant see how they can just wipe out your shares...there will have to be abit of bartering i guess

Terms: TAKEOVER Further to the cash offer by Henderson Group plc to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of New Star. Terms: 2 pence in cash for each New Ordinary Share. As this is
a RECOMMENDED OFFER we will arrange to accept it on your behalf. If you wish to decline the offer, please
notify us in writing by letter or secure message no later than 5.00pm on 01 April 2009,

The above text is what i received via my Selftrade account (i guess you also got something similar.

When you say we either accept it or 'lose it' what exactly do you mean?
What happens to our shares if you don't accept it?
As it says it is a 'Recommended Offer'. Does anyone really know or are we all guessing? I'm pretty new to this and yes got stung also !!

Cheers ... Yawn

not much you can do now - when the deal goes through, you will get your 2p

we either accept the 2p or loose it I guess, I am inclined not to take the offer of £38.80 default option as I am down £1963.00 in the hope that someone will not benefit from my loss.

not really leverage, more like greedy directors. They borrowed a huge amount simply to pay as a dividend. They should be disqualified.

Henderson are a good fund management group. At least you have some shares in a viable group. This share was another casualty of leverage I'm afraid. There are many!

Henderson and New Star are doing some roadshows for advisers. Another fund manager leaving NS after the merger.
All over bar the whispering.

The problem with CFDs is that you might get less than the real value if you wait until the delisting.

I think I'll keep hold of mine too, also in the hope that another bid comes in. Ive only got a small holding at 4p anyway.
