24/1/2011 21:26 | There are political problems in Madagascar.Just look what has happened to Madagascar Oil,MOIL,shares suspended. | imperial3
24/1/2011 20:22 | The cash position is a nice cushion but why did NSN up their stake in UMC from 20.58% to 83.5% and then write the asset value down to zero? Something very odd about that. Possibly because of the political upheaval in Madagascar ? No exploration activities have been conducted of late and the exploration permits expire in 2015/16. Perhaps NSN has given up ? Another question for the company. | liarspoker
24/1/2011 17:03 | This CK`s SIPP? | ducatiman
24/1/2011 16:33 | This all appears to revolve around one man,or so it seems to me. | imperial3
24/1/2011 16:30 | I3, This is the RNS one should recall, placing of convertible note ! Why was money lent in the first place ? we had loads !! 18th January 2008 | giant steps
24/1/2011 16:25 | GS A long time. What have they done with the cash over the last few years. What investments have been made to boost the share price? Answers on a postcard please. | imperial3
24/1/2011 16:19 | I3, it's amazing how folk suddenly get excited by the pile cash - the story has been there for months, as we both know. Probably a fairer discount at the moment, but what tricks will unfold ? | giant steps
24/1/2011 16:16 | Look at the track record of return to shareholders over the past 3 to 4 years. Please draw your own conclusions. | imperial3
24/1/2011 15:56 | Why would the Competent Person's Report which was done on behalf of and paid for by UMC Energy refer to anything outside of the UMC assets at Morondava? They state quite categorically that the "total figure of 400 tonnes of uranium metal... is an aggregate value representing the metal from all the places they examined". They would have been examining UMC land not other people's. | lr2
24/1/2011 15:46 | If an in the ground price is currently $10 per lb then with a minimum 881k lbs the site could be worth at least $8.8 million or £5.5 million and yet UMC as a company only has a £3 million mcap. You may have got a bit of a bargain with your UMC purchase today SSB. Especially if NSN push to prove up a greater resource. | lr2
24/1/2011 15:39 | ARMZ are paying Mantra $10 per lbs in the ground. However do agree will prob see some hefty costs, thus my estimates are on the very low side. | sideshowbull
24/1/2011 15:35 | Way too early for that and besides NSN don't do development. This will get sold on. And for more than '$ nil'. | lr2
24/1/2011 15:32 | at least factor in some costs to develop and extract it | fyodor espenson
24/1/2011 15:31 | 400 tonnes is approx 881,850 lbs. 1 tonne = 2204.62262185 lbs. Note: 400 tonnes is only the figure for the areas they examined not the whole site. | lr2
24/1/2011 15:24 | LR2 Nil seems a bit daft - even if the Government want to muscle in on the resource they are going to need to pay a fee for sure. I think people will see me as a ramper if I do value UMC "assets" so all just take these calcs with a pinch of salt as they are worth nil. Thus lets take the International atomic agencies view as a bare min and forget 400 tonnes I would say several deposits of between 5000-10000 tonnes would equate to very roughly $220m -$660m as a very conservative estimate. Not bad for a company with no value. Slide 3 PROPERTY Eight exploration permits covering 9,994 Sq. Km in the Morondava Basin filled by the Karroo continental sediments. Data Base by COGEMA of France, United Nations (PUND) and OMNIS (Madagascar Government) reports extensive uranium mineralization and uranium targets by airborne survey and drilling on the URAMAD Property. 83,000 meters of drilling - 790 holes (7,000 anomalies - visible surface uranium - 400 tonnes uranium metal drilled off (non 43-101 compliant)). International Atomic Energy Agency expects several 5,000 to 10,000 tonnes deposits of uranium metal deposits to be found in the basin. ENGINEERING REPORT Caracle Creek International Consulting Inc. Competent Persons Report conclusion: "Morondava Uranium Project exploration program should be pursued aggressively | sideshowbull
24/1/2011 15:15 | SSB, so what the likely value of the following? Is it more than '$nil'? "The CEA reported a total figure of 400 tonnes of uranium metal, which is an aggregate value representing the metal from all the places they examined". Page 26. | lr2
24/1/2011 15:15 | They look v. strong today. Annoyed as spent over an hour faffing with broker over ISA-eligability of them. Not pleased, ended up having to buy in regular account for 1p more than I would have paid had I not wasted the time. The broker reckon they probably ARE infact ISA-eligable but couldn't do anything about it until all the red tape was sorted his end. Decided to bite the bullet and ignore the tax (for now - you cannot let the tax tail wag the investment dog, so they say). | bones30
24/1/2011 15:09 | Bones : Already own them and have actually chosen them for the 2011 stock comp don't look at results though lol rather check last years! | sideshowbull
24/1/2011 15:07 | Worth having a browse through again if you guys have not seen it. Some slides actually show surface yellowcake, always a good sign. I even went as far as being the nut job buying 50k in UEP today as a complete gamble if I lose it I lose, will watch it carefully. | sideshowbull
24/1/2011 15:05 | sideshow, added some GCL today. I understand you are keen on Uranium. Have you considered? | bones30
24/1/2011 14:55 | Bones -Fancy seeing you here, I think there is value in the UMC (UEP) asset maybe not until the political situation corrects but eventually will be a rather large Uranium asset even on what they have done so far. With Uranium one and ARMZ valuing Mantra assets at $10 per lbs in ground - The 5000-10000 tonnes identified per deposit would be massive | sideshowbull
24/1/2011 14:51 | The cash position is a nice cushion but why did NSN up their stake in UMC from 20.58% to 83.5% and then write the asset value down to zero? Something very odd about that. And to do something similar at Puquios. That is a very strange co-incidence. | lr2 |
