This is a bit of a roller coaster ride - the NAV is 240 odd so seems like the faint hearted are being winkled out

I booked in HDV Harrogate for Christmas, looking at the bill they should have a good year.

Balfour needs to clarify his position IMHO

Any ideas why the sharp drop over the last few weeks other than market jitters?

From ShareCast - Irish property investor Quinlan Private has emerged as an early leading contender to buy Marylebone Warwick Balfour's chain of boutique hotels, Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, writes the Sunday Telegraph.

I like the sound of several buyers lining up to bid for the hotels.

Hi
Reason for bounce late friday is
Deush bank ups holding to 10%
MWB appoint Bank of America to advise on the sale of the hotels.
Should pass £3.00 soon.

Down 5% today - is this anything to do with the blocklisting information released on 15th?

Could be sharw. Although the price didn't leap on the announcement about the property sell off to Vector, it had been rising steadily beforehand. However, I'm interested to see what the management now do to unlock value in the company.

I asked myself if it was that but the price didn't leap up when the sale to Vector was announced so why should it fall when it is called off? It could be a fear that the Vector failure to float signalled that the peak of hotel valuations was over, but from what I read it could be more a concern of the big institutions, whose support was needed, regarding the rather labyrinthine involvement of our Chief Exec. See:

I imagine it's a combination of maret conditions and reaction to the postponement of the property sales after Vector's flotation was pulled. I'm still holding.

The price plunged between 12 and 12 34 on a large number of sells but has been creeping back up since. As there are no announcements I can only put it down to market forces.

Any thoughts on why the sharp decline today?

A very muted reaction to yesterday's news adding a large chunk to NAV. The downside is that the hotel business will now be paying rent instead of interest and that will reduce profits.

Today MWB makes the Tempus Column:

Hi
Interesting article, i still think this company is undervalued and the article probably explaines why Deuche Bank brought a large stake in MWB a few weeks ago.
I can`t help wondering what the share price will be in December 2008 when MWB aer due to return money to shareholders.
