27/7/2007 12:28 | The wait is not for the U but for the REE + NIOBIUM: Remember the results from the 2006 sampling on Firawa-Guinea? Man these prices fluctuate, the picture has changed in 6 months time 1/Lanthanum: high of 52048ppm = 5.2% = US$104 2/Cerium: high of 82367ppm = 8.2% = US$140 However median is about 1% combined = US$20 or more depending if other REE present ► 3/Niobium: high of 15927ppm = 1.5% = US$928 Combined REE + Niobium at 1% = US$600t ► 4/Combined U308 at 200ppm + REE + Niobium = US$650t (slide22) Article on Avalon Ventures Ltd TSX.V:AVL (19/06/07) The price assumptions used by Wardrop for the REE oxides range from US$2.00 and 1.70/kg for lanthanum and cerium to US$20, $21, $120, and $500/kg for praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium and terbium respectively, as at December 31, 2006. Recent price quotes for these elements as oxides on an FOB China basis, as reported on May 17, 2007 by Metal-Pages.com, are $1.70 and $1.20/kg for lanthanum and cerium respectively. The elements needed for the magnets including praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium and terbium were quoted by Metal-Pages at US$29, $30, $85 and $575/kg respectively. ► Since most REE deposits have a distribution with greater than 80% cerium plus lanthanum, these two REE's are now in oversupply as current REE producers seek to increase production of praseodymium and neodymium to meet the growing demand from magnet manufacturers. This underlines the need for new producers with mineral resources having an REE distribution which is more reflective of current market demand, such as that indicated for the xenotime and fergusonite at Thor Lake. A complete list of price assumptions used is provided in the Study. ►►► Article on Commerce Resources TSX.V:CCE (25/05/07) Niobium, at its current trading price -- in the area of $58.44 USD per kilo ($26.55 per pound) up from $16.00 USD per kilo 6 months ago -- is seen as an economic alternative to vanadium, which in late 2006 went to over $100.00 USD per kilo. Niobium and vanadium both share the ability to triple the tensile strength of steel, increasing with a 2% alloy the PSI to 120,000. The niobium market is growing at the rate of 5 to 8% per year, largely as the result in the demand for High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steel which is used in vehicles, bridges and pipelines. Niobium is also used in high technology applications such as superconductors, capacitors, optics and medical technologies. | vanbrussel

23/7/2007 23:09 | Murchison's Mauritanian uranium mineralization occurs in episyenite: Uramin's concession in neighbouring Senegal = 3,9M lb = In Situ Value of US$490M Mauritania could become a real company maker UraMin Exploration Limited, UraMin's 100 per cent exploration subsidiary, entered into a Mining Convention with the Senegalese Government during early March 2007. The area covered by the Convention is described as "Saraya East" and is 2,992 km2 in extent and is located in the south east of the country. The area governed by the Convention was extensively explored by COGEMA-BRGM in a three phase programme during the late 1950's, 1970's and early 1980's. A non-code compliant historical estimate of approximately 750,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.24% U3O8, which equates to 3.8 million lbs of U3O8, was completed by COGEMA. However, the project was not economical to mine at the uranium prices of the time. Recorded intersections are at depths ranging from 50 to 220 metres below the surface. Uranium mineralization occurs in an episyenite, which have intruded the Saraya granites. The possibility of mineralization to extension to the south, north west and depth exists. A number of episyenites occur at other locations within the concession area, and the possibility of these being prospective have to be investigated during exploration work. | vanbrussel
