Institutions increase Murchison holdings

THERE'S been movement on the registry of Murchison United with both JP Morgan and Fidelity Investments increasing their stakes in the junior, which has been canvassing a number of acquisition opportunities recently.

Last month Murchison placed 58.19 million shares at 1.75 pence each through London stockbroking firm Evolution Beeson Gregory to institutional clients of the firm, raising GBP1.02 million before expenses.

JP Morgan has spent GBP150,000 buying 8.57 million shares, with the big brokerage now holding around 12 million shares, while Fidelity acquired 10 million shares to take its stake to 20.8 million shares - equivalent to 12.04% of Murchison's share capital.

Murchison expects to make a decision on its potential project targets in the current quarter.

morrisminor: sometimes the pain of loss impacts negatively on decision making ability, hence postings agonising on whether to 'top up' at (unexpected) lower levels, and reiteration of the obvious merits of scale-down buying might be helpful to those pondering capitulation(as I believe selling at the bottom is nowadays called.) but I apologise for appearing to preach to the apparently converted.

It is with regret that the Company advises the resignation of Ms
Brenda Lowe as joint Company Secretary. The Board would like to
record its appreciation for Ms Lowe's contribution whilst she has
been with the Company. Ms Lowe will be leaving Perth to take up a
position in London and the Board wishes her all the best in her
future endeavours.
