Shore Capitals Roddy Davidson was forecasting debt to be £4.5m as at 31/12/18
so I would think it coming in at £4.0m is a fair bit better.

Yep, OK, fair point. However I have just looked back at the 3 previous Jan updates and they haven't mentioned forward trading in any of them (not saying I agree with that but it is a fact). Actually, if you compare this TS to previous then the fact the mention they are well positioned is actually a bonus, that's more than they have offered before!

I've held here for what feels like forever waiting for a reasonable valuation! I hope that they can now kick on...

To illustrate my point (and know they are VERY different businesses) but have a look at this TS from CTO

Yep, pet hate of mine. I don't like vague commentary i.e "well-positioned". I should hope so...I mean who what's to be badly positioned.

I prefer some actual guidance on the next period by way of an indication of the current sales-pipeline. Orders, potential orders, enquiry levels etc. you know actual relevant stuff.

Trading statements which give a summary of how a company has just performed are fine (and as a shareholder they are my entitlement) but I like them to indicate how the present sales pipeline is looking since in real time this always leads the results (which lag).

In my experience companies with a good positive slaes pipeline tend to hit or exceed their targets, they also tend to talk about. Those without do the reverse.

Anyway I had a nice buy in point here, so I am a holder not a hater BUT you get my point. The thing with me is I always read the notes first and I always apply a synical analysis. Reading between the lines pays off sometimes. I had to laugh at the PLUS 500holder totaly missing the point on the EGM RNS this morning as an example.

Seems decent enough to me. Single figure PE, moderate debt, continued growth. I’ll continue to hold.

THORPEMATT - what exactly were you not keen on? It was the eighth statement on the bounce that basically says 'we've done what we said we would' They never surprise to the upside (with the exception of net debt last year)and they always hit their forecasts year after year. Boring? Oh yes...just the way I like them!

you mean "we are well positioned for continued growth in 2019 and beyond"

Nice trading update, increasing scope for add-on acquisitions, but meanwhile the interest rate on debt ratchets down, which always helps.

Expect the trading update on Thursday. Should be positive and get the price moving towards the £1 target .......Hickers

trading update soon i'm assuming. it was on the 25th last year and 19th the year before that (both Thursdays). so could be tomorrow or on the 24th.

Bought in today. Looks a good prospect to me. Simon Thompson has a target price of 100p and it's hardly moved since. I guess it will get noticed in the not too distant future. I'd rather be in before the fun starts.GLA

Dr B....

Yes, I was pig headed and kept hold as I mentioned...what an error that was. Well done to you.

I think the catalyst for the rise was the synergy realisation from the market following the recent sale I.e. the sum of the parts is much more than the current market cap. That and the resulting debt reduction from the disposal.

I continue to hold and if it ever does spike again so quickly I won't hesitate to sell a few. However, I still believe it is worth more than the recent 65p and therefore if it slowly approaches that level in a controlled manner I will continue to hold.

Good luck all for this year.

There was no obvious reason for the spike, no obvious reason for the fall. I offloaded about 30% near the peak as previously mentioned, perhaps should have been more but we are all brilliant in hindsight. Am quite happy to hold longer term, but will wait a bit before increasing.

Looking cheap dave, too cheap perhaps, it's fallen a long way. Too far to be healthy.

Sorely tempted to do the same as I hold a s*it load of these but been here over 4 years and still think they are well undervalued so going to risk it!!

Well this is going to be my best performing stick this year by a wide margin. Will take some profits at this level it’s close to treble the price I initially bight in at. It’s taken a while to get to this reasonable valuation.

I am impressed by your vocabulary cfro, wonder where you find these wonderful phrases. :0)

High volume day yesterday in fact the highest for 31 days which qualifies as a continuation pocket pivot, some investors look for these to add to holdings.
