Commenting on the results, the Managing Director, Mr. Hugh McCullough
said,"These very positive results add significantly to the potential for
this deposit. The good grades and, in particular, the extensive
downhole thicknesses of mineralization suggest a relatively robust
deposit and one which also shows very exciting strike and depth
potential. This gold deposit continues to show the signs of becoming
a significant addition to the list of large, profitable gold mines in
this region of West Africa.""An outcrop with very similar geology, structure and alteration
patterns, some nine kilometres along the Komana shear zone to the
south of the current drilling area, has yielded rock samples assaying
up to 20 grams/tonne indicating the very serious potential for other
orebody occurrences along the extent of the Komana shear zone."

RNS Highlights

* Significant widths of ore grade mineralization intersected
- including 86 metres at 2.73 grams/tonne
* Strong evidence of continuity to ore grade mineralization
* Potential for significant strike and depth extension
* Drilling is continuing

Glencar is pleased to report very positive assay results from the
early part of the fourth phase of drilling at its 95% owned Komana
West Deposit in southern Mali. The current drilling programme has
intersected ore grade mineralization over extensive lengths and, in
particular, it has confirmed significant mineralization between
previously drilled fencelines, thus increasing our confidence in the
continuity of the ore. A remarkable ore grade intersection of 2.73
grams/tonne over 86 metres was intersected in one borehole and the
hole terminated in the ore zone. Both reverse circulation and
diamond drilling are being carried out in this drilling programme.

The objective of the current phase of drilling is to increase
confidence levels in the continuity of mineralization within the
northern portion of the deposit through infill drilling and to enable
the completion of a resource estimate for the northern portion by
mid-year 2007. The northern portion of the deposit extends over a
strike length of 1 kilometre. The overall strike length of the known
mineralised zone at Komana West is at least 1.8 kilometres. The
southern portion will be evaluated during the next phase of drilling.

Tick-up, nice to see - although things have been unspectacular for a while with the SP, we have at least seen a measure of stability seldom enjoyed by peers. It would do us no harm to bobble around the 10p mark for a few more months IMHO, with significant rises being driven by substantial news.
