Robbi - Its December 2007

The possible scenario involves Barrick attempting to acquire an institutions substantial holding by bidding a knock-out offer for the block of stock. In the absence of confidentiality agreement the institution reverts unofficially to GF with info that it has received an indicative offer and enquires gently about a timely counter offer.

Word spreads in the City during the Xmas festive season and throughout the holiday period extending into early New Year the pagans at the gates are whispering furiously. GEX gets tipped as an 2008 outperformer in a number of quality w/end papers.

A bid materialises by Easter 2008.

Remember where you heard it first.

Im not known as Paddy the Insane Effendi Infidel for nuttin.

Or am I.

Goldfields or Barrick? Maybe, but also keep your eye on Randgold Resources who are big operators in Mali.

Roll on the "bidding war" for GEX between these three :-)

space - has happened in the past before, very large transactions and yet no movement. They are not necesserily from today, could possibly be one fund disposing and the other purchasing. wouldnt expect an announcement, we never usually do with these trades for some reason. Looking forward to december.

Spacer, this is not the first time that a couple of blocks of 8m+ shares have been disposed int oa strong market for GEX in recent times and on the previous occasions it didnt sabotage the share price then either.

Its not bad news IMHO

Cycl. Agree but the pointer outlined to Uk Analyst is significant in as much as that it goes out to other "industry sources", as well.

It's just a copy of the August tip I think. I may be wrong but I thought someone posted the August blurb on here. Worth a search maybe.
