18/11/2006 09:47 | Corporately GEX have indicated that, having regard to their experience with Wassa in Ghana they were most likely to 'stick to their knitting'. IE Concentrate on discovering economic mineable resources and sell them on. That was a while ago and with the known promise of Komana Im pretty certain that it would have to take a staggering offer for GEX to seriously considering selling. Barrick Gold are looking for small companys like GEX which have or appear to have the ownership of substantial gold resources. Buy Goldfields are in there too. This makes for an interesting scenario. It is clear from the 2006 AGM presentation that Komana possibly contains a number of geologically structurally significant envelopes of high grade gold mineralisation with the potential for each envelope to contain at least 750K ounces. Now take TW's conservative estimate of $80/ounce in theg round as the sale price equivalent and you have a pot of $$$$ many times the current market cap of GEX. Im inclined to think that GEX will JV Komana out at a nice price. Its all about risk management and GEX have shown an adept hand in this regard since Wassa. | ![]() bongo bwana
17/11/2006 20:07 | So do GEX just plan to define the resource in Mali (Komana), flog it and then move on? Is this a preferred option over either JV or going it alone? | ![]() serpicouk
16/11/2006 22:32 | Thanks for your thoughts mate, i agree that next year could well be an exciting one. | ![]() robbi123
16/11/2006 22:18 | Hi Robbi, Im quiet confident that GEX will have firmed up its bankable resource estimate for Komana by this time next year. In the meantime there is plenty of scope for excellent good newsflow relating to the Sankarini Project and Ghana. The time to break open the bubbly may be the 2007 interims but on current conservative projections Id be surprised if GEX were in a position to make a declaration in relation to the ore grade mineralisation and related estimated recoverable ounces in the ground at the AGM but the very careful Hugh Mc will be well equipped to provide expert guidance to the AGM audience on what probably lies ahead for GEX at Komana, at that time. The 2007 AGM should not be missed. | ![]() bongo bwana

16/11/2006 14:28 | what resources do GEX have and are they/when are they producing | lt39
16/11/2006 11:46 | LT - if we knew that top secret Id be much happier. But see the GEX web site and it will tell you all about the Sankarini Project and that GF has a 'first option' on Komana. But that doesnt mean that other firms - say like say Ashanti or Barrick might just wade in and attempt to snaffle GEX at a fraction of its true value - say within the next 18months. | ![]() bongo bwana
16/11/2006 09:50 | anyone know what goldfields current level of interest is with Glencar? | lt39
16/11/2006 09:32 | tsmith2, Your estimate of mid-December sounds good to me. Fortunately, all GEX's assays can be done at Morila in Mali and should not be subject to the several months delay many other African exploration companies are experiencing. | ![]() pecker1
16/11/2006 09:17 | vry nice indeed. | ![]() tsmith2 |
