kirk6,
In that post I wasn't saying a placing was imminent, more that the priority for mgmt
is working capital as they admitted they don't have enough to stay solvent beyond Q1.

I'd expect an equity raise in 10 weeks or so then a signing off on project financing
next Summer, if gold does well. If not, the project may have to go on the backburner.

"With the extension of the Macquarie Finance Facility, the proceeds from the recently completed sale of the its remaining interest in the Don Nicolas joint venture, the Company estimates that it has sufficient cash on hand and expected cash flow from operations to meet its requirements until the end of the first quarter of 2015."

RNS states no cash needed til end of Q1 2015. Of course a placing may form part of any financing - hopefully a small part esp at 3p!

Whilst management say they're "targeting completion of negotiations by year end"
a target doesn't mean zip. There's been a lot of targets set over the years here.

The following suggests a placing is being considering to tide it over until such
debt finance is secured later in 2015; "the company will require additional cash
in the event that requisite project finance is not secured by the end of Q1 2015"

We know that financing discussions are at an advanced stage. I wonder if the deal comes from Canada, as Courtney mentioned that in a recent interview (just the country),plus the Canadians know Latin America very well.

Anyway, next week is the last full week before Christmas, so if they are going to announce the deal before the end of the year I would guess it would make sense to do it next week. Oh well, we shall see. Keep the faith!

Yes, i'm sitting here looking at the panicking sellers too, while I put up the Christmas tree.

This is the final fifth wave, so its typical climactic end of trend behaviour. Nothing new in that. I'm all loaded up on these now so just waiting for the RNS. Nothing has changed, of course try telling that to those dumping their stock. Very foolish in my view.

under $800 per tonne costs which gives a large profit margin even at 1200PO.

I think it was quite an upbeat rns last time and costs per ounce not so bad, myself.

Valuing the equity at 'almost nothing' is probably correct considering the debt.
At $1000 gold it's sunk. $1300 gives a fighting chance but it's high risk stuff.

Interesting point on merger. Recent RNS mentioned:

'Sources of additional financing may include, but are not limited to, the sale of a production royalty, the sale of a royalty stream, subordinated debt
instruments, the sale of an interest in the project or equity financing'

A better deal will always be available in a stronger gold market but the GP has been in decline all year. Why not stall the financing or any deal in the meantime?

It is now clearer which way gold is likely going (and all this '$1000 by end of year' is now very unlikely).
Although an RNS to that effect would be nice, if it is indeed the strategy.

A merger is most likely here as the CEO alluded to in an interview from Jan 2011:

If conditions were right we would be amenable to a merger. In terms of corporate
deals, I see consolidation as the way the industry will go in the next few years.
Expect they'll merge with another TSX'er and eventually sideline the AIM listing.

It would be nice if gold started to recover properly along with the share price, thus lessening any forthcoming dilution.
