This product would be fantastic for long haul flights. No more stiff necks from trying to get the angle right. Rent them on short haul, think of the added revenues for airlines. How much are they retailing for, any idea?

No idea SS.
The only commercial use that I know of was the night-vision binoculars from the Hong Kong company a couple of years ago. That was using an earlier version of the product and I'm not even sure the new product is compatible. There have been other development uses, including the Mobintech personal display glasses and the Rodenstock sports glasses.
There's not much of a clue where the stock is going to from the company either:

Production volumes will ramp up in the second half of 2007 and the first half of 2008 in order to meet the growing demand which is reflected in additional 'design in' projects and the signing of exclusive distribution agreements, to date covering Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Korea, Israel and much of Europe.

Does anyone know to what use the first shipments of screens will be put to? They are going to be a good promotion of the product if they are not used as door stops.:-)

MED is a licensee of CDT (Cambridge Display Technology) which goes under the marvellous abbreviation OLED (presumably standing for organic light emitting diode) on the Nasdaq. And all the brainchild originally of Prof. Richard Friend at Cambridge (UK). I have just noticed that after an almost interminable time of bobbing around 5 to 7 cents or therabouts that OLED has shot up 88% as I write. Wonder what's up?

I see another user of user CDT technology is building a factory in Dresden, in their case to make electronic paper displays.

Dresden, Europe's leading research and microelectronics location, has once more won the day in global competition between top locations. Its latest success: the British company Plastic Logic Limited, a spin-out from Cambridge University, is currently building a new production site for a total of 96 million euro between the AMD microchip fab and Dresden airport. From 2008, a new generation of flexible displays, known as "electronic paper displays" (e-paper displays) will be produced in series at the factory; a global first.

Xi'An, China, and I needed beer after the last three days of stress I've had! I love China though even though the storms last night reminded me of the UK and the insurance hassle I've still got to deal with for last week's flooded car episode :-(
Not looking forward to returning next week to be honest!

Unionhall, I posted what I knew about pricing a while back on this thread - I'll see if I can find it, but the search facilities here aren't great, and I'm not going to try and remember it, because it's 1 AM here and I've had a few (too many) beers!

I know I've asked this before but to get a handle on potential revenue does anyone know what an estimated sale price per unit might be ? We could then extrapolate from the Full volume of 10m units per year from the Dresden facility.

I still don't understand why MED think that a sauasage munching, beer swilling jolly for the insties to Dresden warrants an RNS, but the sales push in Europe doesn't. Am I the only person on the planet that thinks that the European Rep/stocking agreement is reasonbly significant as far as future business is concerned?
