Figures finals 4th Feb, should have a run up next week, looking for a 58.5c dividend, great that Goldman Sachs upgraded one week before figures.

Bears doing their best to get price lower, selling in batchs of low numbers 15, 50, 75 etc, but then bang someone comes in buys 5000. Big tussle going on bulls and bear.

Tech stocks hit highs and Nasdaq record close tonight.Micro Focus certainly missed the party.

Buyers will come in, I reckon later today. IBM cloud division had good figures last night, so perhaps sentiment will rub off on other tech stocks.Under 1100p hopefully gift from the stock market gods, lol.4th Feb can't wait.

All being well bulls Final figures on the 4th Feb, I expect half decent with a nice dividend.
We are price now at 1100p for armageddon. Does seem a crazy price, but could have a run to 1175p before 4th Feb.

Wonder if hedgie Dodge ans Cox will top up on their 17% stake, they paid a lot more than 1099p.

If it closes above 1100p I think would be a great indicator in this risk off day for markets.

Interesting thoughts. But it feels to me like a kind of legacy business relying on a past strategy. And I don't trust KL who has been a big seller, and maybe will be again.

As someone who worked in the IT industry here is my 2 cents - Contrary to their website/marketing material/RNS updates, Micro Focus aren't a traditional software company. I.e Instead of developing new software and selling it, a not insubstantial source of revenue is made up by them acquiring software companies/products whose software is already widely in use then extracting additional revenue from those customers through aggressively auditing them. This has been a successful strategy for them.
New sales and audits just show on the balance sheets as sales, as a result it’s hard to quantify the impact of this strategy so I will caveat by saying it’s my opinion based off what MF have done in the past. What statistics do exist show that MF are nearly as aggressive in attaining audit revenue as Oracle, IBM and more than Microsoft – companies at least 50 times the market cap of Micro Focus -hxxp://www.clearlicensing.org/tag/audits/.
This method of revenue generation is important because it’s not immediate and takes a while for deals to complete and figures to hit the books. My feeling is that although they overpaid for HPE there is value from the acquisition to be accounted for and this should hopefully take effect in the next set of results or the following quarter.
