From the Persimmon results this morning....

"We continue to invest in high quality land, which will support both the improvement in the Company's profitability over the medium term and an expansion in legal completions as and when market conditions allow. During the last six months we have acquired c. 7,500 plots of land, c. 36% of which have been secured through successfully converting strategic land positions. Notable successes have been c. 800 plots at Gatwick in the South East and c. 200 plots at Whinmoor in Leeds, West Yorkshire. These anchor sites will deliver superior returns for the business in the coming years"

About time they got the cheque book out for Telford then ?

Good point, so often they whisper some figure under their breath at a meeting years ago that no one went to and then try to pretend every man and his dog have the slightest clue what the hell they are talking about.

If anyone is going to the AGM you might like to ask MBH not to give statements that say how well they are doing or expected to do against budget but say how well they are doing (operationally and like for like or course) versus the previous year.

Budget figures have absolutely no meaning to investors, we have absolutely no idea if the budget is challenging, easy to beat, realistic or pie in the sky. This type of statement could easily be interpreted as indicating that management are hiding figures that would disappoint the market.

Don't have the whole note, but there's a bit more text on MBH in last night's Stock Market Report from UK-Analyst, as follows:

"Arbuthnot initiated coverage on Michelmersh Brick Holdings (MBH) with a "strong buy" rating and 64p target price. Commenting on the group following full-year results, the broker said the current share price does not reflect the potential significant upside as and when the group participates in the further consolidation/restructuring of the UK brick industry. That said, with management to date delivering both organic and acquisitional growth, Arbuthnot believes there will be a significant increase in profitability going forward. Michelmersh shares were untouched at 36p."

That is almost double the current share price so it should get some of their clients interested.

Ennestone?

Vaughn only seemed to know aggressive growth. The business was positioned badly for the downturn - struggled, then stumbled, then died. (Resurected as a new company - Ennstone ordinary shareholders not happy!)

Eric Gadsden is chairman of Michelmersh Brick.

MBH, quite as a mouse & overlooked, not a pip squeek in the press.

Fib levels clearly showing next targets for support/resistance.
