Yep, big Vern is gone. And "the vision" is also on the way out to be replaced by? Watch this space, we'll let you know in 3 months. It might very well be the best thing, we will find out once they figure it out... What we can guess is that the all-new Metro Bank will most likely be a totally different business from the one you invested in... Assuming they are sensible and flexible enough to change.

If you ask people in the City who work and invest in financials, they will pretty much all tell you the same thing: Vernon was one of the problems with Metro.

Sure, he's steered the vision.

But he also has/ had an art for being brash and not listening to people around - who sometimes have better ideas.

His departure is very good.

Indeed, the past few updates on short tracker have shown them reduce now under 10%...but there is a delay...some of those whopping trades yesterday a fund accumulating or short closing. Metro has a bright future and is very well capitalised imo:-)

Work is progressing to transform a former Wolverhampton phone shop into Metro Bank’s latest branch.

It is set to soon open its doors to customers in the city centre, off Dudley Street and Queen Street, and has completely gutted the building in order to create a new brash facade.

Ian Walters, managing director of retail and business banking at Metro Bank, claims the company is offering a “revolution in British banking”.
