GB2005, have no idea if it is in the price just posted it for info but tend to agree with WBJ that is is (hopefully) small potatoes now.
Generally I think investors are just bored by it now and want a line drawn under it.

We are very near take-off, Boateng & YSL are history, Boateng end of this year,
YSL next yr. Boateng is loss making, so profits will rise else where in the group. Another brand is on the way before year end & many more licences to follow.

Boateng small potatoes now, MPH has moved on big time and we will see the end of the whole sad episode by the end of the year. Michael will probable be pleased to have Boateng terminate the loss making business and concentrate on the profitable side of things imho. Roll on AGM and trading news, off for swim keep cool........wbj

Shame you can't hedge your bets by buying shares in Memery Crystal who litigate for MPH/Michael Morris.....suspect they may be busy for some months yet.

Very good find blooming,

What ever the outcome there will be a cost to Marchpole.

Chap1889 has a point that no one can be confident in saying how this will go and buying shares in the company they work for cannot be seen as a good sign regarding this case.

As I have said recently when this mess is cleared up once and for all and the YSL deal has finished the company will be in a better position for investors to value and invest in with more confindence.

gb - the trouble with litigation that makes it all the way to court is that (i) it's down to the judge on the day (ii) you have no idea until it's all over the amount you will have to pay, even if you win. Director buying is great, but don't confuse it with their having any deeper knowledge of how this mess is going to pan out than you or I.

is this news included already in the SP? Recently director and FD all increased their stakes. They would not if they havent expected "the Boateng thing"

Arthurly:-

Difficult to know how the perfume sales are going, but if they say have reached 100 million euros by 2008 then that is a nice 7 million euros to MPH, straight to the bottom line, which would very nearly double last years profit by itself.

A perfume called 'do do'? Needs a bit of market research, I think.

I remember this from when I held mph shares before:

'A unique perfume for women, le Doudou, was launched in 2001 and is currently
sold in 52 countries with an annual Euro 30 million turnover. A men's fragrance
is to be launched in the near future. From 2008, the perfume business will
generate a royalty income for JCC S.A. of 4% on sales up to Euro 50 million per
annum and 3% on sales above Euro 50 million per annum.'

Would any of you experts know how much this might be worth to MPH from 2008 ?

Robbie Burns!
Share buy-back. I read this within the company Marchpole (MPH). What does this mean? You note that directors are quite actively buying large chunks of shares. Does it mean that we pi's have to sell when the big boys tell us! Is is pretty obvious for a company to announce this kind of tactic!?

Hi Mick - share buybacks usually take place when a company reckons its share price is undervalued by the market. Buybacks tend to keep the share price buoyant though in my experience it doesn't do that much and really I think they are a waste of time and the money would be better spent on the business.

As far as Marchpole is concerned I don't think any buybacks have taken place yet. Looks like the directors are happier just buying up shares in MPH which is an excellent sign that good news is on the way!
