01/4/2019 10:21 | Poor old Germany - shame!!! “The Eurozone’s manufacturing sector saw its biggest contraction for nearly six years in March, according to a widely-watched report, with key producer Germany registering the biggest fall. The Eurozone manufacturing purchasing managers index (PMI) fell to a score of 47.5 in March, down from 49.3 in February, as demand and output slumped, statistics from data company IHS Markit today revealed. A score of below 50 marks a contraction. In European powerhouse Germany the manufacturing PMI fell to 44.1, its lowest score since July 2012, as a decline in order books gathered pace. In Germany both total order books and new business from abroad fell at the fastest rate since April 2009. Chris Williamson, chief business economist at IHS Markit said: “Concerns over trade wars, tariffs, rising political uncertainty, Brexit and – perhaps most importantly – deteriorating forecasts for the economic environment both at home and in export markets, were widely reported to have dampened business activity and confidence.” March’s reading was the second month in a row that the PMI figure has been below the 50.0 no-change mark, with the region’s three biggest economies – Germany, France and Italy – all posting below the 50.0 mark.” | brexitplus

31/3/2019 10:25 | The Monster Raving Loony Party wouldn't be a bad choice. While I suppose most people have expressed, from time to time, some anti-government feelings, I think they have always tended to believe that the 2 main parties who hold or share power in government, the conservatives and the moderate Labour Party, have acted broadly on their side, and on the side of other moderate people. They will now know, of course, that this isn't the case, they're not at all on our side. They act not for us, but for their vision, or more likely blindness, of how they see the world through a smoked glass window. They use us as little more than fodder, to get themselves elected. Brexit has taught us this lesson, of course, a little too late in many cases, although a few like James Dyson got it early on, at the time being heavily condemned for taking a lifeboat before the ship sank. So now we have confirmation of their lack of respect for the common people, why should we have any confidence in the direction they determine for us, in all the other areas in which they set the rules, areas where we've paid less attention and just been happy to accept their judgement? Why should we have any confidence in, and respect for, these rules, now that we understand how they may have been arrived at? My confidence in this process, such as it was, has now completely gone, and many I speak to feel the same, and not just brexit supporters. A lot of people will be doing things a bit differently from now on, using their own judgement a bit more, and the government's a bit less. I think we'll be better for it. | meanwhile

29/3/2019 16:30 | HP has announced the launch of its Metal Jet Production Service, enabling customers to upload designs and produce production-grade additively manufactured metal parts in large quantities. The parts are produced by HP partners GKN Powder Metallurgy and Parmatech, using HP’s Metal Jet systems. The Metal Jet Production Service allows customers to upload their design file through the HP website. The HP team perform design compatibility checks to ensure suitability for its Metal Jet Additive Manufacturing technology. Once confirmed, the customer is connected to one of HP’s trusted third-party manufacturing partners to fulfil the order. “As we continue to expand our plastics and metals portfolio across both prototyping and production, and build out our community of global partners, we are helping customers save money, accelerate time to market, and improve sustainability as they progress on their digital manufacturing journey,” stated Christoph Schell, President of 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing, HP Inc. | brexitplus
29/3/2019 15:08 | Have a good one B+. Yes, very quiet here, M-i-L away in the Caribbean, daughter also away (again) and just me and Mrs Y around to enjoy the weekend. May go for a long stroll across the North Cornwall cliffs somewhere. Boscastle to Tintagel is a fair trek, very demanding but beautifully scenic. Then pub lunch and back again. I see the HoC still can't make their minds up....this is going to be one of two things, a No Deal Brexit on 12/4, or an extremely long process with ultimately/probably no Brexit at the end, all part of May and Co's 'plan'. She should have been pushed out long ago. 40/60 currently, but no deal would be my choice. If we stay within the EU, they will make our life intolerable - there's a real Project Fear for the remainers! | yertiz
