My questions were answered in part only.

Will the rejuvenation of GKN be seen to have begun? - The board says so but Financials not showing yet.
Will the huge markup of Melrose's share price on the back of Nortek be seen as
justified? - Some doubts now creeping in, more could follow.
Will the real reason for delaying Ergotron's sale be revealed? - Yes, poor performance at Ergotron.
Will Melrose move into the 'dog breeding' market. - Possibly, as a means of generating growth at any cost.
Do the numbers matter at all or is sentiment the key to share price? - Yes, the numbers matter but blind faith still prevails and numbers are not yet taken too seriously.

Sogoesit, happy with that as long as you use Burford Capital to finance it! Mattboxy is winning at moment. But Meanwhile hasn't yet released his all-important calculation yet - that could cause some volatility later as the market struggles to interpret it and correct all the mistakes.

The four most important words “no black holes found”. They would surely have been uncovered, or fallen into, by now, so just a matter of time for MRO magic to work. Only immediate cloud seems to be underperformance at Nortek.

I was thinking there might be some significant news with Ergotron, Brush or Nortek but nothing. 'No black holes' is an interesting phrase and market will like that statement. Dividend up significantly.

Results are nothing more than expected, so looks like I’m the winner even before the market day starts!
Plenty of encouraging noises but not a great deal to sport on - 73 days in total.

We're going to need one of Meanwhile's calculations soon to add the value of all the bits of Melrose together. I suspect that without this, the City analysts will be struggling to run their discounted cash flow models and place any sort of meaningful value on the company.

The industrialists who paid £8bn this year to take control of one of the most famous names in British engineering have hired bankers to sell another of GKN's most substantial businesses.


Sky News has learnt that Melrose Industries has asked RW Baird to sound out buyers for Off-Highway Powertrain (OHP), a division of GKN which provides driveshafts and gearboxes for vehicles used in the agriculture and mining sectors.


Melrose, which will report half-year results on Thursday, is said to have put a price tag of about £350m on the OHP unit.

A sale process is expected to launch in the next few months.

The top team at Melrose is also kicking off an auction of GKN's Powder Metallurgy business, which could fetch about £2bn, as Sky News revealed during the summer.

Rothschild and Jefferies, the investment banks, have been given the mandate to handle that process.

Together, the disposals could return more than one-quarter of the cost of the hostile takeover of GKN, which turned into one of the City's most fractious bid battles for years.

Spirit AeroSystems Supply Chain Management awards these honorees to recognize suppliers that have achieved superior performance, with nominations typically coming from the company’s procurement groups. Suppliers like GKN Aerospace can be nominated for offering outstanding support, expediting deliveries or providing weekend assistance.

“We take our responsibility to protect Spirit’s production lines very seriously and view our relationship with them as more of a partnership,” said Todd Gardner, site leader at GKN Aerospace’s Wellington facility. “We are proud to receive this recognition from Spirit AeroSystems for another consecutive year, and it is a testament to the work our team does every day on Spirit’s behalf.”
