01/3/2017 17:17 | Sadly, I have to announce the loss of one of our favourite breakfast venues. We set out westward to enjoy breakfast at 'The Old Post Office' at Datchworth in the County of Hertfordshire and on arrival found it to be closed, with a note in the door explaining that "Commencing 1st March 2017 we will not open until 12:00 Monday to Friday. To 'say' that we were disappointed is to vastly understate our sense of loss, but unavoidably, we had to decide where next to travel. One of our party was doing an 'airport run' where for an untaxed income in cash he takes passengers in his luxury vehicle. He planned to join us after he had dropped his passengers at Luton, so we had to make it more in that direction than not. We decided on a little cafe close to the railway station in Knebworth, and thankfully, due to the modern wonders of communications, managed to relay that information to our 4th party who joined us shortly after we arrived. Breakfast: pretty good 8/10 Price: £10/head for breakfast and 2 lots of fancy coffee (including a generous tip for the waitress who wore thin see through tights over a tiny black thong and kept bending over - all of which entertained us royally!). | prambigear | |
