Added a few more again just before the close, never thought I'd get 'em at this price after last months trading statement.

I'd rather stay out of any disagreement you have with CR. I have no trouble with his posts or his thread which often provides ideas for me to go and investigate.

I stick to using the numbers provided by the likes of Digital-look and stockopedia, anything other than that is bulletin board chatter. No harm in a bit of speculation though. If all forecasts were 100% correct we'd get no 'Ahead of' or profit warning statements and far less opportunities and where would the fun be in that?

MT - I've done my own research, I wouldn't buy if I hadn't.

Cestnous - not the first time I've bought something that has fallen and won't be the last. Strong yield and good forecasts, clear the seller and I'm sure it'll bounce back fast.

Better doing your own research.

These tip sheets and mags come up with some
good tips but the MMs are watching them
like hawks.

They use the tips to increase volume
either way in order to make 'their cut'.

Dont forget they thrive on volume and
therefore anything highlighted like this
one, they manipulate in order to expand
thier wallets.

Go for stocks that arent fashionable but are
starting to perform is my motto.

If it's any consolation, I did exactly the same and added today after seeing the 'Shares' article. That said I would expect to add again if it goes much lower and I see no reason for the drop.

Impeccable timing on my part (or not) could've saved myself a few pence by the looks of it.

It was that Edison note that first put these on my radar, didn't have the funds available at the time and then I thought it had ran away from me. Surprised to see it back to where it was pre IMS.

I did consider waiting before buying first thing, often being able to buy below the mid point is a bad sign but I knew I was out of the office most of today and I didn't want to chance it for the sake of a few pence knowing Shares have mentioned it.

6%+ yield is better than I'd get from the post office as well ;)

And on the 17/10/2012 we got this

MDM Engineering Group Ltd

FORECASTS 2013 2014
Date Rec Pre-tax (£) EPS (p) DPS (p) Pre-tax (£) EPS (p) DPS (p)

Canaccord Genuity Ltd
17-10-12 BUY 8.51 17.39 8.63 8.82 18.01 8.94

17.39p EPS not a dreamt up figure of 20p EPS.

And from the year end results:

"Dividend policy
The board approved a final dividend of US 5.2 cents per share payable on 26 July 2012 to all shareholders on the register on 29 June 2012. MDM will continue with its dividend policy of 50% of after tax earnings"

A forced seller about it seems - probably creating a great buying opportunity?

Perhaps I was dreaming when I read this recently:

"RNS Number : 8331O
MDM Engineering Group Ltd
17 October 2012
MDM pre-close statement
MDM Engineering Group Limited ("MDM" or "the Company")
Following the end of the first half of MDM's financial year; the six months period to 30 September 2012, the Company is pleased to give an update on trading and announces that the Company anticipates that results for the year will be ahead of current market expectations.
As indicated in the 2012 Annual Report, MDM will continue its growth path during the current financial year. We continue to see new awards in both studies and projects been granted to the company.
These new awards, together with those studies and execution projects that have carried over from the previous financial year, have helped see the Company continue on its predicted growth path in the first half of 2012 following the profitable previous financial year. The Company therefore anticipates that its results for the 2012 financial year will be ahead of current market expectations. The Company intends to announce its interim results on 4 December 2012.
Martin Smith, MDM CEO commented:
"We are pleased to confirm that our growth path is on track and the measures we put in place subsequent to the global financial crisis in 2008 have paid off. MDM is on a strong footing notwithstanding the negative sentiment in Europe, and we continue to secure work in Africa with key clients. We are looking forward to producing another good set of results for the forthcoming financial year."

I don't read Shares Mag anymore, but just as well I was one step ahead and researched before their crowd arrived. Think there is a seller around though as despite the 146-150p spread I was able to buy at 147p. Hopefully a tip will clear out any seller pretty quickly.

Thanks for the help last night.
