I'm suspicious that it'll take a while - perhaps a few years - for the Morrisons rebranding to have an effect on (backward-looking) results. Is a slow rollout & still the corner shops to slowly close.

Share prices look forward not backwards of course :)

I understand the average McColl's store is only around 1,800sq ft.

Loganair,

They've done one in rochdale and it appears to be a typical 3000sq ft size.

The figures will be interesting.

Four more McColl's stores rebranded to Morrisons Daily. The conversions are part of a trial that involves 10 stores in the North West.

I notice from the pictures, these rebranding seem to be the largest of the McColl's stores.

"Our policy of a 50% payout ratio to profit after tax (before adjusting gains but after adjusting losses) is unchanged."

The two most important for me when it comes to McColl's is their continuing reduction in debt and continuing divestment of loss making Newsagents.

Over the past 4 years McColl's have divested themselves of around 40% of their Newsagents.

I'd guess they may hold the divi down for a couple of years, until Morrisons side has taken off. I don't mind them managing their balance sheet carefully for the time being.

Do you think it's unrealistic? I'm here for the recovery any dividend is a bonus from my perspective

This would be suggesting an Interim dividend of around 2p with the Final at 3p.

I expect profit to up to around £15-20m with eps 15-20p with 5p overall dividend which should be around 4-5% at time of issuing

Anybody any thoughts of what the Interim dividend is likely to be.

My thoughts are 0.6p for the Interim, the same as for the Final, then next years Final at 1.0p with a continuing reduction of debt and divestment of Newsagents.

Up 62% here and holding for much more yet. Expect it to be back up £1.20 with a positive update on Morrison trials

I think it may be too late for Sainsbury's as it seems to me Morrisons have already got things tide up with McColl's.

There are lots of ways of measuring a company's value besides enterprise value. It has earnings and a dividend so it must be worth something. Amazon and Lyft do not, however!

I totally disagree with the Times article...ditto...

..a rather sloppy poorly researched piece....

I totally disagreewith the Times article.

The P&H going bust is now resolved, the increase of selling Safeway (Morrison) products is now fully up and running, some of their larger convenience stores being rebranded into Morrison Convenience stores & the continual divestment of loss making Newsagents at the rate of around 30 per year when their leases run out.

Sentiment is usually almost everything when it comes to a share price as humanbeings on the whole tend to be emotional creatures who invest emotionally, rather then rationally.

Well taking into account their year end debt position, the current EV is zero which indicates that the current shareprice reflects sentiment rather than any meaningful financial metric !
