20/4/2018 11:44 | I think it depends on circumstances. There is no doubt that the snow in UK did impact on people's ability to travel etc and has been commented on across the whole retail trade and construction industry as a reason for lower performance. I've heard a brickie complaining that he can't lay bricks because of the frost; I've never heard one say he can't work because of the alignment of the stars! | jeffian
20/4/2018 11:37 | I must admit to getting nervous when companies start blaming the weather, a bit akin to blaming the alignment of the stars | septimus quaid
20/4/2018 10:32 | About to break through to the upside of the falling trend channel, resistance 111p after that resistance at 121p & 131p | ny boy
20/4/2018 09:39 | I heard it’s a heatwave in blighty, long may it continue, the tills must be ringing again, the whole pub sector is cheap imho | ny boy
20/4/2018 09:37 | I love beer and live near Burton (marstons home) but off the back of one warm April day you make this prediction? | coldspring
20/4/2018 09:20 | All Good ! | chinese investor
19/4/2018 14:22 | Lots more thirsty drinkers heading for the pubs during this usually hot weather spell in the UK,punters have been waiting for nice weather for a long time! Good turnaround story here imho | ny boy
19/4/2018 13:27 | If Mars were rated in line with GK the share price would be 160p+. Made a 20% turn in GK and have switched funds to Mars. Well worth a punt. | hooley
19/4/2018 12:53 | Bid target as well, can see consolidation in the sector over the next 12/24 months | ny boy
19/4/2018 12:53 | Beer o’clock time, summertime arrives early, long evening drinks in pub gardens, World Cup footie not far off, should see these move over 120p in no time | ny boy
19/4/2018 12:52 | MARS & MAB are both doing well ! | chinese investor
16/4/2018 13:08 | M&B are having a good day ! | chinese investor
16/4/2018 13:03 | GNK is up another 2.5% today. So since Thursday's trading update GNK has risen +22%. MARS has risen only +2%. | brwo349
16/4/2018 10:24 | My feelings entirely. | giant hayslack
16/4/2018 10:20 | Holding announcement just out. One shareholder has sold down from 6% to under 5%. This explains why these shares did not rise on the back of the GNK trading update. | brwo349
16/4/2018 07:54 | Good prospects here for share price recovery warmer weather arriving. World Cup footie, long light evenings, I can smell summer coming, time for a scorcher? | ny boy
14/4/2018 09:27 | I always set up my own moderated board. If this bulletin board is attacked by trolls at any time then sensible investors can use my moderated thread. BTW my graphs are much better. | chinese investor
13/4/2018 14:16 | Good question Gerd, I hadn't realised there was a second active thread. I wonder why ChineseInvestor started it. Silly to have two active ones. Cheers, PJ | pj fozzie
13/4/2018 11:13 | Any reason why there are two active threads on this. It means I have to make four or five extra mouse clicks every time. Not only is that less efficient but it can also be quite tiring. | gerdmuller
13/4/2018 10:50 | It is tempting to guess how much profit they can make over the next 5 years, and how much debt they could pay down. What price will the shares be then if things go well. A multi bagger I suspect. | careful
13/4/2018 10:47 | but I don't think they'll get the market to give them a rating until they prove that they can pay down, not just service, the debt. --- One hopes the Government have learned that lesson. -------------------- Some good discussion here this morning as well as a share price rise. Agreed jeffian, they should demonstrate that they can start paying the debt down. On Gov, it is my experience they never learn anything, although I. Can not see us getting back to high teen interest rates. | 11_percent
13/4/2018 10:39 | #2645, True, but as a direct consequence of the Government's ill-fated economic policies when trying to fix our currency against European currencies drove interest rates to outlandish and unsustainable levels. It was a double whammy because high rates = low capital values so you were hit on both sides of the equation and it wasn't just property owners but businesses as well as even the widest profit margins couldn't cope with 17% interest rates (which is what I was paying in the run-up to Black Wednesday). One hopes the Government have learned that lesson. | jeffian
13/4/2018 10:37 | GNK back around £6 soon imo. Should see MARS back to 120-130 range - provided the next TU isn't catastrophic | the deacon
13/4/2018 10:34 | GNK up another 4.7% today | brwo349 |
