12/6/2018 09:25 | Very durable clothes. I still wear my MKS flared trousers and tank top. and I get a lot of second glances from the women. | careful

12/6/2018 09:02 | There is a huge difference between being Cheap and Good Value for Money. Except for socks and underwear, every thing else I buy from M&S lasts at least 5 years. | loganair
12/6/2018 08:53 | A positive tale indeed Things are only cheap for a reason | ignoble
12/6/2018 08:50 | M&S clothing is not that expensive considering the amount or wear I'm able to get out of them. A quick example, just before going on holiday my wife said I've been wearing my M&S canvas beach shoes for the past 5 years worth of holidays and to get a new pair. The only place I had time to pop into was the cheap Shoe Zone. After just 2 weeks of being on holiday my wife said to me, to stop wearing my old pair of M&S beach shoes and to put on my new pair from Shoe Zone. I said to my wife that these are my new pair of beach shoes from Shoe Zone and they had already gone home and worn out, so I put on my old pair from M&S which considering are 5 years old looked twice as good as the 2 week old pair from Shoe Zone. | loganair
11/6/2018 23:41 | Remuneration committee is a comedy circus...how is performance measured and who sets the targets?... Former Marks & Spencer chief executive Marc Bolland has been paid £62,899 by the company he left two years ago despite a collapse in profits since his departure. Bolland is due to be paid the sum in shares next month, according to the retailer’s annual report. It will take his total pay to £17.2 million for six years in power, ending in April 2016. The facility, reputed to have cost £200 million, ‘was built at great expense but is never likely to achieve planned capacity, lacks resilience and cannot currently meet peak demand’. | loganair
11/6/2018 19:52 | Agreed , never could get on with anything Starbucks My youngest used to complain the hot chocolate was so sweet it is undrinkable My favourite coffee is at the Wild Bean Cafe at BP Petrol stations ... I agree, a voucher will not change one iota. Find them a nuisance, end up in the pocket of the car for months or in the bin | ignoble
11/6/2018 16:40 | Shorters burned to a crisp in Ocado today. Is that coming to MKS soon? | randomwalker
11/6/2018 12:53 | free - something I buy, hot chocolate, I much prefer Costa Coffee's hot chocolate to Starbucks. If Starbucks start to offer the possibility of winning a £10 voucher, I would still not go to Starbucks because I prefer Costa Coffee. In other words I do not think it will change were a person buys their sandwiches from. I think a poor move in the wrong direction. | loganair
11/6/2018 12:25 | I think the idea of the £10 Gift cards is to attract business from other companies, as those that buy their sandwishes elsewhere, would be attracted to buy their sandwiches from M&S instead, to try and get a free £10 gift card. Then those with vouchers, will most likely end up buying more than £10 worth of goods, and hopefully if they haven't shopped in M&S for a long time, will be impressed with the stores now, so continue to shop there. Even if many new customers don't win a Gift card, then because they are already in the store, they may well look around at the rest of the store. You have to look at the full picture. Hence a great deal for customers (if they win a gift card) & for M&S (if all goes to plan). Remember, also you might have to buy 5 or more packs of sandwiches to get free £10 voucher as they are in random packs. I think an excellent move in the right direction. Well done BOD! | freedom97
11/6/2018 11:31 | There is something very wrong if a company is having to pay its customers to maintain being their customers. I have written so many times to M&S saying in my view the way forward for M&S is for them to return to how the company was in the 1980's when it was the first retailer to make £1bln profit instead of trying to continually chase the latest trend which other retailers are far better at and have far more expertise then M&S have. When it comes to clothing on-line I think is far less important then for other areas of retail. To my family clothing on-line we treat more like the old fashion catalogues, to see the designs then actually to into the shop to make the purchase. Take my own family, my wife and I and our children do not buy any of our clothes on-line as we like to feel what they feel like before buying, we tend to buy holidays, flight tickets, small electrical items, cameras, books and toys/models on-line. | loganair

11/6/2018 09:07 | phil - How unimaginative of the directors of M&S. If one buys their sandwiches from Greggs or Costa Coffee etc I am confident in saying that these people will continue to keep buying their sandwiches from Greggs or Costa Coffee etc, therefore M&S are giving away money to people who already shop at M&S and would in all likelihood have spent their own money at M&S, instead will spend their free gift voucher. | loganair
