morose - as no one else appears to be posting perhaps this helps.

Management have held meetings with selected institutional investors during the last couple of weeks. This is slightly unusual and i would suggest that it indicates they may have been making them insiders prior to placing and acquisition, hence the recent fall away in the price. The acquisition,if there is one ( :-) ) is likely to be in the U.S. and knowing management it is likely to be a good one. What will the share price do,well there's a question,i wonder.

MMC now almost breaching my stop loss but I'm reluctant to sell - but the dilemma is, neither do I want to see my profits slip away on one of the few good shares I've had lately.
Any advice - results supposedly in a couple of weeks??

MMC announced yesterday the their 12 mth results to 31st Dec. 2000 will be out Thursday, 15th March. Analyst meetings and then press meetings immediately follow.....I expect good news and bullish projections on new business etc. But we will see....could be a run-up to the results and then more on reflextion. Don't think it will be "better to travel than arrive" or "buy the potential good news forecasts....sell the fact". Cheers

Had a little shake out the last few days but will it now resume its upward trend?
I think it will and could now be a good top up opportunity.

Stop loss if you can at 76p ...but that single buyer of 300,000 at the end of today suggest there remain some big guys who have a continuing appetite at these levels for results in mid-March and way beyond. MM's looking for stock IMHO.

Charnocks info's encouraging but I have fallen on my face so many times taking tips from people supposedly in the know.
I like MMC, it seems to be taking a breather at the moment.
Has anyone any other info or thoughts on this one?

Very reliable but I am not going to tell who other than the first hand source is a director of the company I work for and the second hand is a chap he plays golf with who is a heavyweight in a MAJOR broking house, for obvious reasons can say no more.

I do not get tips like this one very often, I have only ever had 1 other inside tip and it was not from the same source and I was not on the internet then.

By way of interest that tip was also very reliable and profitable, when I do get info I only pass on if I invest and I only invest if I believe.

As always DYOR but you can rely on this one.

Proudfoot Consulting (PFA) changed it's name to Management Consulting Group (MMC) following a recent aquisition. Following a steady climb back fro 12.5p December 99, the stock is now well on it's way to £1.00.

Opening post to origional thread:-We all have, I am sure, a dog that has been forgotten. Proudfoot Consulting is a stock that I bought following a Michael Walters (Daily Mail) tip some three years ago. I bought right on top of the spike at 55p
I even forgot that I owned the thing. Although, this was one of my very first investments and the sum invested was small by my standards today, it still hurts to get an investment so wrong. I also did not have a stop loss in place. The share price drifted down to 12.5p. So I trebled my original investment and sold at 23p keeping my original holding for old times sake. I again topped up last month. I have no knowledge as to why the share price has shot up today but it does appear that my dog wants to go for walkies.

The company has been rationalizing it’s operations throughout the world and the appointment of the new CEO has been the turning point.

It is nice to see a bit of blue today.

I think it's Cruft's....but still a good choice..

I remember reading the original article whan you first wrote it, and the old title still raises a chuckle when I think of it.
It was one of the classics.

Am a frequent poster on this board and iii, the stock is in great demand from major investors and they are raising the price to meet that demand and pull the sellers into the market, if you don't have get now, if you have don't sell they are on the way to 140p 'early this year' from a reliable second hand source.

What's going on with this stock today.

4 x 50K Sells and the price is going up. Especially on a day when most stocks are down.

Any thoughts on where the price may go ?

Quite incredible what is happening with this share again.

Sells all day and then we are shown 2 protected trades showing two large purchases that mop up all the sells, someone is buying these big time and for nothing like the true value.

I was told last November there would be more corporate action early this year and that a unpublished price target of 140p was being discussed at a major broking house.

The mm's are short of stock top fill all of the buyers requirements, do not sell at these prices, I hold stock and will not be selling until they top 125p.

A recent post of mine from another board but please DYOR.

If any one believes me to be ramping you will not heed this anyway but that is not case I was given information some time ago as posted on the old PFA board and removed from that board by the censors...don't know why.

So there is no doubt..I do hold shares but as always never enough of winners like this one.

Last 10 days trading totals:

Buys 1,157,000................Sells 1,410,000

Interesting bit that makes me think the time is near is the breakdown of those trading days.

First 7 days of the 10.

Buys 519,000...Sells 922,000
Ratio = 78% more sells than buys price unchanged

Last 3 days of the 10.

Buys 638,000...Sells 488,000
Ratio = 30% more buys than sells price moves up 2.75p

The point being that the price has moved up in the last 3 days despite the mm's having a surplus from the previous 7 days of 400,000+ shares, they still have a net surplus from the 10 days of over 250,000 shares yet they are that eager to get hold of them for whoever the large buyers are that they are still drip feeding the price forward.

Whatever the action is it is clearly soon, if these are Directors buying then they would be excluded by a closed period of 6 weeks from any price sensitive announcment being made, if the Directors have not been buying then my view would be that this is institutional and the action will happen before 6 weeks is up, sorry can't give the nature of the deal as I don't have that detail, but if you want to make a few (more) bob don,t give up your shares at these prices.
