LB, not sure about prices, they seem to have set up some sort of futures contracts. Try googling for it (wine futures).

I have heard it's a good one..

Have you any idea what sort of prices for a case of one of the first
growths...e.g Rothschild, Margaux etc?

Our local Costco is doing 6 bottles of Torres Sangre de Toro 2004 13.5% for under £4 a bottle and its pretty good stuff - AND you get a free black plastic bull with each bottle too! Now THAT should tempt a few of you!

Wine is ridiculously priced out here in Thailand- fairly 'full bodied' plonky reds for about a tenner - double the price back home. I guess they don't keep too well out here with the heat but it doesn't seem to be a problem in the oldareas of French Indo China ie Cambodia Loas Vietnam where there's tons of nice drinkable plonk at reasonable prices - bout 5 bucks for an ok red.

Anyone own any of the 1996 clarets?

I've not really kept up to date with recent vintages but I think it is
still the best year since the 1982?

I knew this thread would attract some interest. Mainly riff raff
at the moment.

Don't worry, I am sure that the wine snobs will make an appeareance.

Do you hold?

Chateau Margaux 1998 I mean?

I believe it was a fine year with laying down potential. Let's put it
this way - I think I'll be 104 until it's ready for drinking.

Well, I've just popped down to my little cellar.

A few odd bottles and a case of Taylor's 1945!

I am somewhat partial to port but something tells me that this case
is worth something after all these years.

Any port collectors out there?
