I find analysing insurance company figures next to impossible so I usually leave it to the experts to make comment in the newspapers the following day. Press comment this morning looks to me to be far more favourable than yesterday's share price movement.

Reference M&G's investment in Investec - think that is a great deal, Investec still 40% below pre-pandemic price despite having risen 50% since April. And as long as South Africa continues to recover so will Investec. Investec are also once of the biggest dividend payers in the FTSE 250 and I received mine today and so M&G will have received a huge dividend too. M&G and Investec are my own two largest holdings and make up nearly 70% of my dividend payments between them. Happy days.

I put a buy-in at 228.70 when it was at 228.60 4% down and it shot straight up did not even get a partial buy you win some you lose some.

Capital generation from the insurance book remains the underpin for the capital plan and dividend.
They have a couple of years to address the wealth and asset management parts of the business to drive some growth…..

1.5% increase in the already very high Divi will keep the price plodding upwards. So sure no fireworks, but a steady 6 month increase until this gets to a 5% yeild, which is now about a 50% rise from here if my maths is correct.
