Seems bizarre especially as a NED bought 50k shares at £1.50 very recently (8/2/24) and there have been numerous director buys over the past few months. Volume is double average.

Simmsc, yes I recall that too and have recently added to a full position. Always a risk that it will now fall back a bit before making good its challenge of £1.50, where I see the chart resistance. Then it looks like being straight up to £2. But obviously needs to be supported by strong fundamentals. I think things may now be aligning for further recovery.
If you like this one, maybe also take a look at GBG, which is a peach of a recovery chart. Obviously DYOR.

This stock has over the years a few times been mentioned as a potential long term compounder in research pieces when investors have been looking for long term winners. The huge jump (and subsequent fall) in share price during COVID is what has thrown investors. But i still think that this thing is on track to be exactly that, because it has all the quality aspects to do it and astute management. I plan to hold this for a while if these facts don't change.
