On falling knives: I tend to avoid them yes. But sometimes I will build poistion early. In any event I don't see this as a falling knife any more. Here's why:

Chart one. Shows uptend, followed by downtrend. It's pretty obvious when they break channels the trend has changed. The downtrend is usually followed by the accululation phase in my experience. Investors start to accumualted, sometimes this bowls out a little also but in the end the downtrend is clearly breached. I have drawn 21 and 50 day MAs which are also useful in seeing the breaches above.

Chart 2 shows detail on recent chart. There are several keys here:
Firstly the trends are very clear. (breached for the longer term downtrend and cosolidated the sideways accumulation trend).
Secondly, volume you can see that on up days the volume is strong, in down days it is low to minimal. This is the reverse of what happens when the price tend is falling.

SO, whilst I am fairly sure there is much volatility and fear to come in this bear market, I am happy to accuulate stocks which posses both quality and value in the mid-term. Any further falls would be an opportunity for me.

....And that's all I have to say about that :-)
