14/7/2010 12:24 | Agree WJCC - placing was last march so the bulk of the dilution factored in v eps in H2 - that should improve the eps gain on comparison in H2 imo. Edison note out - tho they don't do full coverage but a few snippets in there. As I said hvs - headline eps mask a weath of issues - if that's all you look at you miss a lot of the real progress imo. 14/7/2010 11:44 | EPS is down due to the dilution from the placing. | wjccghcc
14/7/2010 10:58 | Hi napoleon, I agree with you on cash flow being important. Debt is being pared down. But EPS is the key basis for valuing a share. Think these will now drift down. | hvs
14/7/2010 10:12 | ooops! D-d-d-damn c-c-c-computer st-st-stammer. | napoleon 14th
14/7/2010 10:12 | hvs - your point is not irrelevant, unlike the squirmy worm watchout2, but eps comes second to cashflow (REAL cashflow, as in ebitda) in my book; Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity, but cashflow is reality! LWB debt well down says it all IMHO. | napoleon 14th
13/7/2010 12:31 | Hope so HVS i can pick up some more | hastings
13/7/2010 11:41 | EPS is KING. The results were NOT GOOD. Sub 35p soon. | hvs
13/7/2010 11:17 | LoL - never heard of assets, cash and growth rate then HVS? If you invest based on eps only then that's like playing poker with a three card hand. CR | cockneyrebel
13/7/2010 11:14 | Neither is your spelling | tom111
13/7/2010 10:47 | EPS is everything. The resuklts were not good. | hvs
13/7/2010 10:46 | Well let's see what the broker updates say later today. H1 last year these never looked like paying a divi - you could have bought at 20p. Now you'd have doubled your money and be getting a 5% yield on your initial investment - rather nice performance. I'd bet on a 1.2p divi for the year myself - that's 3% here. With 0.5p divi in H1 then the 1p for the year forecast has to be too low imo. The growth rate is excellent too - just the headline eps doesn't reflect the 30%+ profit growth. Looking at just the eps isn't wise imo. I'll try to get any notes that come out later today. CR | cockneyrebel
13/7/2010 10:05 | Agreed with above, let the dust settle and see where we are by the end of the week. | hastings
13/7/2010 08:57 | Morning! Bit of a late start for me. Great results and holding on tight to all mine. | bigbigdave
13/7/2010 08:53 | Don't think many are trapped here. Volumes have not been high. Could still sell now for a nice little profit. Prefer to hang on for a nice big profit. No brainer really. | bantam175
13/7/2010 08:50 | Your right watchout2. Profit up 31%, a very confident outlook, giving out an interim divi just because they are making money is terrible! Meanwhile i have added some to my ISA. | shauney2
13/7/2010 08:42 | Only have the headlines at the moment, Dow Jones will give the full story later: *DJ Low & Bonar Eyeing China, Middle East Joint Ventures *DJ Low & Bonar Bidding For 2012 London Olympics Work *DJ Low & Bonar: Olympics Work Would Be "Nice Add On" To Revenue | cockneyrebel
13/7/2010 08:34 | CR blaming traders for the fall although he himself is one ! Maybe somebody should explain to him that 90% of stocks that rise well ahead of results fall on them no matter what the results. Good ramping of this on his thread means many are now trapped in. | watchout2
13/7/2010 08:21 | Highest price paid at open was 40.75 for 10000. Small deals. | bantam175
13/7/2010 08:12 | CR is a trader as well be warned ! He'll have it put across he holds long term but he is just a pump and dumper with this sidekick dave ! He probably sold as well at the open. | watchout2
13/7/2010 08:10 | traders scalping from yesterdays rise curlly - let them do it, dunno what they want in a recession with sales up 15% odd in Q2, H2 started strong too. The divi tells you all you need to know imo. Long and happy here. CR | cockneyrebel
13/7/2010 08:10 | Every man and his dog heading for the exit.Wait later in the day when the dust has settled | tom111
13/7/2010 08:10 | Donkeys dumping. The old buy on rumur sell on news. True value should out but may take time. :-( | bantam175
13/7/2010 08:07 | DOWN whats that all about. | curlly |
