This stock can move 30% on just 10 to 15 million shares being bought or sold over a few days. 30% is tied up with the South African Pension Fund and much of the rest is held by institutions that don't trade it. 15 million shares is 5% of the company. It takes very little to move this stock (down or up).

Red Baron I thank you for your excellent posts. One thing I have thought about regarding Lonmin and long term holders is that is there a possibility Zuma could impose a clean up tax on all the toxic land Lonmin have created? It would not be unreasonable to do so IMO and you have to think about what use the land can be put to in the future.

I don't mean to heap misery on the low share price but the fact is Lonmin does have some very deep old mines and is there a price to pay for that???

Yes I can't deny that you have been correct so far pjm....all I am saying we have seen a sustained downward trend, since the results on 15/5/17 - if the next few sessions we see a consolidation and steading of the price then we may well see buyers return which in my opinion should cause the share to raise - I am not saying you may not see it go down again once that has happened or due to bad news being released at any point in the future.

Similarly good luck with your trades up or down.

The company has the same cash position today as it had after the RI. This was confirmed in the results from last month. The company has net cash still. It has facilities for credit but they are not currently drawn.

The doom and gloom is overdone here.

You can bet your bottom dollar there will be a rebound in the share price soon and it will move back up like a coiled spring....yes I know anyone who is short will say we are more likely to see 50p before we are ever likely to see £1 again. But the market is a strange place...

this is trading below zero if you subtract the rights issue cash.
valued at just over £200m.
weak £'s at that.

can this survive.
will it be nationalised.
after the rights issue the unions owned a big chunk of this.
so they will want their investment to come good.
