Unless I get a takeover, I won't be investing anything until May next year. My Mrs 50 birthday coming up in the next 18 months as well as holidays to pay for, so need to build some spare funds....

There won't be any more dividend re-investment now for me for the rest of this year unfortunately. That was the last of my top-ups into LGEN on Friday. Won't be able to use my dividends for re-investment now until next year.

I've got bigish sized divs coming from ANP at the end of the month and NWF in Dec plus a couple more but i need to pay for Xmas some how lol..

My CSN dividend as gone into topping up my OPG holding. In the recent IM one of the directors said even if the share price tripled OPG would be still well undervalued. And in a few years time the cash will be equivalent to the market cap.

Enjoyed the bounce back since the budget very much but glad to see the back of Oct, overall it's been a very difficult month.

Nov and Dec are traditionally good months usually so bring on the santa rally..

Not much of a Trump fan myself but i want to see a Republican victory hence Trump.

One slight fear i have though is what happens if Trump doesn't win, civil war? Will they accept a democrat win or think it's fixed?

The Yanks are so divided that Trumps supporters might march to the Whitehouse for a second time. We need to hope that doesn't happen..

Also a trump election win would be a boast too for global markets.

I'm no trump fan, but sometimes you have to think what benefits your own pocket. And why shouldn't we, we've had a fairly stressful 3 or 4 years, so we deserve a decent period...

It's amazing how those on twitter are suddenly shouting about IHT being removed on AIM shares have sold out of their AIM holdings. (Its like they want it too happen). I tend to listen to companies that are more closer to the government like AJ Bell who think it won't be removed, if that's the case the AIM will have a substantial jump over the next 2 months...

Something that surprises me nobody talks about folks making profits from spreadbetting don't pay any tax...

Why should folks in a normal investment account outside of a ISA pay increased CGT whilst folks who have spread betting accounts pay absolutely nothing...

Also the banning of disposal vaps next year will Attract more smoking. BATS certainly worth putting in a diversified portfolio. Currently on my watch list. I hopefully will catch the budget early evening as Turkey is currently 3 hours ahead. Hopefully catch in on BBC news which is properly the only channel worth watching. I brought my firestick over with me, but unfortunately the TV is mounted into the wall, so can't connect it...

I'm over in Turkey at the moment. One of the big thing I've noticed over here, is the amount of folks smoking cigarettes. Tobacco is very much alive around these alot of these European countries. My brother in law said the same when he was in France the other month...

A lot of investors expecting big falls on wed, but i still think the budget wont be as bad as many are saying.

After the Truss debacle Labour know that the city must be consulted first so the city will know already whats in their plans i think. Yes, of course there will be tax rises but Labour know that they need to get productivity up and growth up and they are aware that if you tax small businesses too much and hammer investors then growth will not happen.

I could be wrong, we'll have to wait and see but i dont see the markets tanking 20-30% because if they do then we will have a real problem...

So Rachael Thieves going to change the rules on borrowing lol. I think that is a big clue to what is coming in the budget.
I don't think it will be as bad as folk are saying. Yes, some taxes will be increased but clearly they are limited to what they can do and have to borrow more instead to make-up the difference..

VANL CAD$55m contract wins in Canada for rail upgrade.

Still awaiting news on TATE. The FT seem pretty confident that a takeover is in the offing. I would personally rather it doesn't happen.

I think VANL could be bought by RNWH.
STVG could be bought by ITV.
TON might be bought by ALU.

All of those kinds of takeovers i would welcome but TATE is apparently a US PE company. It will be on the cheap and that would be another world-leading British company gone to the States which is tragic..
