Rayrac - I'm also semi retired these days. As well as they normal day stuff, I've been actively trading my Sipp for almost a year - with some success. As for the thread I highlighted, just do a search for threads started by xxxx.

How the heck you found/kept that on record skinny I'll never know! :)

I remember it well, even though it was all of 11 years ago!

Talktalk now and advfn. What would I have done with my time? (Retired)

Skinny, Hi, must be years, if not longer? :)

Yes, they've taken my money today, but it depends on final take up, so could possibly get it back again due to over subscription. But I doubt it!

High Rayrac - long time no speak, I trust you are well! I have just taken up the option to buy a few extra here.

I'm not selling, I've made an offer for 50% of my holding, which is from funds I have to hand, which in the grand scheme of things (mine) doesn't amount to too much at all.

Let it roll i say. :)

Rayrac, I no longer hold but I presume that there was a qualifying date to participate in the open offer. The risk is that if you sell all and subscribe for the same value of shares (or more), if the offer is over-subscribed and then scaled back, you may end up with fewer shares than originally held.
The open offers in the last two fund raisers were under-subscribed.
I may buy back in if the share price dips towards the offer price.

Someone keeps trading 2m shares. Doesn't make much sense to me.

greynag, no, hadn't given that much thought, don't you need to hold shares in order to take up the offer? Actually I've subscribed for 50% of my present holding.

Rayrac, what? All of them? :-)
Have you sold any of your current holding to buy back at .7p ?

Info just arrived! Any number of new shares @GBP0.007 per share can be subscribed for. so I have. :)

nod, I can't get to grips with how it will change our holding in the company.

I've had a letter from my broker saying "Each Ord share of GBP0,01 will be subdivided into 1 new Ord share and 1 'C' Deferred share".

I assume we will be asked to subscribe/pay?

Not that I would mind!

In the past we've seen the share price fall ahead of placings and then rise afterwards as anxiety about cash disappears, at least for a few months.

Given the widespread use of Aorfix and the positive feedback, it's hard to see that the FDA will not approve it. It's just a slow process.

I agree with Rayrac's logic. These new investors are not in a position of 'throwing good money after bad' as existing investors can often be. Their involvement is with fresh eyes.

What was most interesting was that neither of the new investors are significant shareholders. Also both are specialist healthcare investors and presumably know their onions.

Abingworth LLP and MVM Life Science Partners LLP, both specialist healthcare investors, have committed to invest, in aggregate, up to GBP13.0 million. The placing and subscription will be issued and admitted to trading in two tranches. [note the second tranche is dependent on US FDA approval] ... The first tranche of up to GBP13.3 million will fund the Company through to Q3 2012 and the anticipated approval of Aorfix(TM) in the U.S., will trigger payment of the second tranche of GBP14.2 million."

"We welcome the continued support of our existing shareholders as well as the addition of two of the most highly regarded investors in medical technology, Abingworth and MVM. Their confidence in the long-term prospects for Aorfix(TM) is further strengthened by the excellent 2010 results announced today, which show accelerating penetration in Europe's largest markets."

I agree Ray ,only a fool would invest 25mil in a product that was likely to fail.Market cap 23mil currently which will increase with the new shares,Can not see why the price dropped on the news of the money raising.Had to be done .imv

I'm still holding this one, I think webby and co jumped to soon, you don't get to raise £$? 25m with a dud product, so hanging on for the eventual t/o and an share price of at least 3p. :)

Edit; What the heck am I on about, the m/c is only £22m. It should go for at least £150m if they can get a decent slice of that $1b+per annum market.

That's 6p!

This company has failed to deliver yet again... I have been in this stock since 2003 and I think this is the third time that they have hyped themselves up and have not delivered, not to mention the sneaky RNS. Management have a lot to answer for.
