What an idiotic comment. DBAY are likely to invest the cash (in their own funds or something direct). They can mess things up. So there's downside! Durrr...

Gentlemen,

I remain staggered by LDG sitting at 13.5p. For I have never before come across an investment where the long term down side is nil and the upside is 35%.

Surprised we are back down to 13p. Opportunity to keep topping up

I suspect dbay are looking at other targets in these uncertain times. I don't think they will be taking small stakes in companies unless they want to take them over.

At 30 Nov LDG had net assets of £133.9m. Since then it has bought back 140,441,000 shares at a cost ~£20m. Even after making a profit of £2m on Caretech, I'd say NAV was closer to £116m. However at 13.6p (x 562m shares in issue) mkt cap is closer to £76m; a discount of 35%.

Mr Evil is undercooking LDG with his £120m+ cash balance. Assuming we receive the caretech proceeds we should be closer to £134m versus a market cap of £95m. How can a cash shell have a 40% discount?? Dbay must be very close to bidding on another target or Mgt should be about to press the buy-back button.

Investors finally waking up to the huge discount to NAV. I've been accumulating at 13p as the share price has been see-sawing but to be fair 14p is still great value

Am surprised they have discontinued [temporarily] the share cancellations given their last buybacks were at .15pence

I see that Richard Griffiths has popped his head above the parapet. He also had a small stake in caretech. If he keeps on increasing his stake here, then that probably means he's banking on a return of capital to shareholders.

It may have been a good investment but relatively immaterial to LDG as a whole (a profit of ~£2m on a market cap of ~£100m). It's now 5 months since the investment policy was amended and unfortunately the share price is going to continue to drift along until they actually do something...

I haven't studied the caretch offer in full but the rns refers to a partial roll over alternative.I assume ldg wont we doing this and will just take the cash?

If LDG are not going to need the funds in the short term, they might as well wait and collect 750 from the takeover rather than sell in the market place at 740.

RNS confirming the Caretech holding. What an excellent short term investment Caretech proved to be, i make the average buy in price around £6.60 so in under 6 months dbay achieved a 14% return.

Caretech has indeed go e to the Sheikh. The Sheikh was always the preferred offer so no surprise except the market believed both may walk since Caretech stock could be snapped up at £6.30 on Friday against a £7.50 all cash offer. So LDG is back to 100% cash again. I winder of Dbay will now make a move for Anexco again. Given 9-10% inflation LDG would want to utilise sooner rather than later. Happy holding here, i will actually continue to add on further falls as i still fail to understand the 40% discount on offer.

I expect Dbay to walk from the Caretech transaction next week and agree to pledge their shares to the sheikh

Odd things is I've tried to purchase more stock today but my order is still waiting to be filled. Very strange.

It will be good to get Caretech decision whichever way it goes.

Ok i’ve taken the plunge, maiden position at a little under 13p. I don’t understand why the discount to cash (19p) is so large. Caretech decision Monday which doesn’t influence my decision as i’m not sure how that will play out.

Caretech share price has dropped back, presumably because the market doesn't think either bidder will still commit to buying this out at 7.50 given current market turmoil. Expect the offers to retrace back to 7/7.25. LDG / Dbay had been buying at the current share price level but now prevented from buying anymore as the top price they paid was 7.10. I expect them to walk away and sell out as there must be some interesting opportunities out there. I will continue to top up at 13p

IIRC 50% of LDG´s funds were possibly to be invested in DBAY funds, so cash shell bit no longer true, perhaps. I sold during the buyback as the DBAY setup too messy for me.

Caretech results out this morning, discussions continue with the founder and Dbay. I can see the attraction having a quick look at the results, Caretech has significant property assets supporting the balance sheet. A common trigger for a private equity swoop. Are holders here still adding at 13.5p? Unless i am mistaken isn’t LDG basically a cash shell with a small holding in Caretech? The discount suggests the market views a lot if risk to Dbay’s future investment decisions yet their track record is excellent?

Surprised at the low level of volume recently. Sellers wanting more for their shares than buyers are prepared to pay so there is no trading volume.
