07/9/2022 18:56 | LDG continues to go down while Finsbury is going up. Strange. | tyranosaurus
06/9/2022 20:05 | Someone has been buying more FF today. Wouldn't surprise me if it's Dbay via LDG | lpavlou
06/9/2022 12:15 | For me Dbay and Fif are the reason i'm in.I remember Dbay to be in Wynnstay,in which i'm also invested. I like the investment in Fif and the price they paid for it. Enough to give them credit. | kirmich
05/9/2022 20:57 | Head above the parapet at FF. is a bid coming? | lpavlou
03/9/2022 00:07 | Whilst they are buying publicly listed stocks it's easy to put a value on it. If they decide to buy a non listed company, it's much harder to value and so we'll have to wait for an event to cash in and see what profit they've made. Be interesting to see if they up their stake jn Finsbury as they could buy the company in cash. | lpavlou
02/9/2022 12:44 | I'm not sure I want Dbay to play with my money. I think if they want to become an investment speculator of some kind they should seek shareholder approval. I'm quite capable of losing my own money on investments I don't need Dbay to do it for me. They need to either find a significant investment to make or set a timetable to return the cash and wind up the company. | kinbasket
01/9/2022 20:47 | LDG also have a 15m investment in another stock, but have yet to release the details. Seems to me that Dbay are now going to buy small stakes in what they perceive as undervalued companies. I'm happy to stick around for the ride. There is always risk in any investment, but the discount to NAV does offer some form of protection | lpavlou
01/9/2022 16:34 | on one hnad the board pushed for (and got) the buy back. But then DBAY are using the rest of the cash to make investments. | briggs1209
01/9/2022 14:28 | Difficult to know now quite what the investment strategy is here. One moment and an emphasis on getting the stock price closer to NAV as witnessed by the share buybacks at prices much higher than the present. Now taking a stake in FIF | baronet bill
01/9/2022 08:15 | How Simon Cawkwell can say there's no downside is utterly beyond me. Low risk, perhaps a better description, but with inflation running wild that cash pile shrinks in buying power every day, they can make poor investments etc. | eezymunny
01/9/2022 07:46 | Thanks Thecroots. It wasn't obvious but you are right, the sector is certainly unloved, and will stay so when cost of materials and energy stays high. | galles
01/9/2022 01:30 | Simon Cawkwell last week. Logistics Development Group (LDG) reported this morning and confirmed that tnav is now 19.5p. Overheads are well under £1m a year and tnav, largely cash and certainly no debt, is c. £110m. As against that the capitalisation is, at 13.5p, about £75m. Patience is required but there is no downside. Over a week one could easily buy 1m shares. I do not know why the sellers are intellectually so obdurate. I doubled my holding today FWIW. | ohisay
31/8/2022 21:06 | Galles, Finsbury's latest update was largely positive. All sectors increasing and they have confirmed they have managed costs. It is cheap - just in an unloved sector right now. | thecroots
30/8/2022 19:56 | Someone sold down 8m shares today. They must have somewhere better to invest to gain a higher rate of return | lpavlou
30/8/2022 16:02 | 29m is the value of their investment in Fixtaia. The Caretech investment was only worth 14m, so they must have other investments in Fixtaia, which they haven't announced yet | lpavlou
30/8/2022 12:04 | Yes on the Finsbury I agree it is not massively obvious........... | chrisdgb
30/8/2022 11:10 | I was thinking perhaps due to FIL Limited doubling their stake, maybe they expect a bid. I am a bit confused over our Caretech holding though - they say we have 1.9m ish shares and have valued them at £29m but 1.9m at £7 a share is only £14m, the 2nd lot were bought below £7 a share so not sure why we lost £300k on the holding even at £7.05 | spagboll
30/8/2022 10:40 | I've been looking into Finsbury since they declared a holding and it's not immediately obvious to me why Finsbury are considered good value. Could anyone share their insights? It's in a sector that is under inflationary pressure with the ingredients, supplying supermarkets that notoriously squeeze their suppliers. I must be missing something DBay are seeing | galles
26/8/2022 17:06 | Put a buy order through at 13.07 but never got triggered. Will try again on Tuesday | lpavlou
26/8/2022 09:52 | ah, I think stockopedia has not updated for the buyback. I thought we had dropped a bit! | briggs1209
26/8/2022 09:39 | The market reaction sums up why companies like micro focus are getting bid for at 100% premiums.....! | chrisdgb
26/8/2022 09:12 | Results as expected. The final dividend covered the operational costs. The 300k loss on Caretech is only notional and they should book an 800k profit this year which will cover this years operational costs. The Finsbury share purchase is interesting and expect them to increase the position. Still a big discount to NAV so limited downside from here. | lpavlou
26/8/2022 07:59 | Crazy discount.... | chrisdgb
26/8/2022 07:57 | Think you two may need to redo your calculations. After the buyback there are 561,765,000 shares. NAV just under 20p. | spooky |
