Over on jonwig's dodgy BUR thread someone was boasting that BUR had tripled from its recent low. Completely and utterly untrue, but there was nobody honest enough to correct him, especially the thread gauleiter jonwig himself. Sooo slippery....

Miton sold out because LIT stopped paying a dividend and they were pushing Patrick (CEO) to keep paying one. Patrick said It didn't make sense in the macro environment and when they were growing so quickly.

Miton have made a big investment in QFI. Ten percent of the equity.....had to find the money from somewhere I suppose

It is actually amazing that Miton , respected small cap investors as they are ... gave up on this stock. I'm not trying to be smart about this because the journey has just begun and the jury is still out to some extent but I am genuinely surprised and curious about what their thinking was. Maybe they had to sell it?

The average ROIC (return on invested capital) for LIT is 134% so all of the assets under management should give good returns

I seem to recall that Burford have said that they typically take 30% of the claim.

If LIT earn similar rates, then looking at their portfolio, you can see that any win at the larger of these sizes will have a material effect on the share price ..

Someone knows something. These moves are too big for conventional investment. I hypothesise that a substantial case win is very likely. We shall see.

The problem is is that people have no patience. As a result, I expect it to be a choppy ride up to the heady heights, but it will get there as people come and go.

Both targets are a real possibility. If the board execute their strategy, within that time the assets held by the company will be crazy! There is no reason why this will not be a £1bn company in 3 years or even a £2bn company in 5 over years!

Absolutely not. If you have patience, these will be x5-6 more in 2-3 years, maybe more.

Yup, share price was higher than this two years ago (only 8% more share now than then).

Company much bigger now than then. As Arden recently said...

"The litigation contracts outstanding provide a huge store of value in our view and the maturity of the claims portfolio suggests likely renewed progress in settlements which should drive substantial capital appreciation in the shares over the next 12 months. The funding applications, third-party fund commitments and progress on another third-party fund provide evidence of excellent opportunities to put capital to work and provide strong catalysts for the Group in coming quarters. Buy."

I have to say, as someone who owns quite a lot of LIT, that today's action is very pleasing provided that it sticks. There's almost as much pleasure in proving jonwig the bad-breath soothsayer wrong. He was trolling LIT just a few days ago. He is a major loser in the litigation finance game having wonkily taken all the wrong decisions on the slightly suspect BUR.

It's just so undervalued - two years ago the share price was 115p & there was no asset management arm, we're now on the verge on opening fund number 2... Premier Miton held the price back for most of this time, taking a stupid 19% in the IPO and then proceeding to sell it down for no apparent reason. It has presented a glorious opportunity though, and still does IMO.

Why the sudden interest apart from the new Burford.
Tipped somewhere? Very pleased.
