14/5/2011 19:01 | Recently published, my book!... Free Capital: How 12 Private Investors Made Millions in the Stock Market "This book profiles 12 private investors. Each of them has accumulated £1m or more in most cases considerably more mainly from stock market investment. Six are 'ISA millionaires' who have £1m or more in a tax-free Investment Savings Account (ISA), a result which is arithmetically impossible without exceptional investment returns." First chapter available FREE to read here Or buy the book from ADVFN's linked bookshop | freecapital
24/11/2002 09:33 | One book I think is very good which I don't think has been mentioned is "Trading for a living" by Alexander Elder. The author is a Psycologist and Professional Trader. I feel the market is more driven by the psychology of the masses than anything else! Some other books are mentioned . | barter

16/8/2002 13:17 | A very simple but easy reading book, How I made 2 Million $ in the Stock Market, by Nicholas Darvas (spelling may be wrong) Easy reading, simplistic, a little dated, but he states the obvious and the obvious is not always easy to see!!! | royaloak
16/8/2002 13:16 | Andy, Nice one. Let me know what he says. No probs re: amazon. Have a good one ! Deano | 2deano
16/8/2002 13:09 | 2Deano, I have emailed Tomj, and he's going to ask around ADVFN to see if we can set up a 2nd hand book thread. He will let me know next week. Thanks for the info re Amazon, hopefully they will find the book within the time limit, otherwise I will reset to 12 weeks again. Andy. | ahkeen
16/8/2002 10:49 | Mick thank for posting, I would post the links but ADVFN have their own book sale section so I would not want to blatantly promote an alternative on their site. Excelent idea to donate % of sale to SCOPE. Good luck with the bike ride. | count dino
15/8/2002 23:55 | you can read all you want...but this game is as much LUCK as it is SCIENCE. Close you eyes pick a stoch and you have 50/50 chance of getting it right...LOL | fast player

If you follow the links and order the books then there is the added advantage that a percentage will also go to Scope via a sponsored bike ride I am going on! Refer to If there is anything else you want from Amazon then please go through the general link found at the bottom of the index page on the left. More affiliates to follow. If anybody wants to make a direct donation... details on that website. 15/8/2002 20:29 | Count - I have bought Liar's Poker for weekend reading. Cheers. | 2deano
15/8/2002 20:28 | Andy, Good idea. I don't know about the logistics of it all & how it would work, but the intention is sound. Re: extending book : Yes they do. You can extend the period of time if expiry date is reached, so no worries there. Alternatively let it expire and just put in another bid again to run for 'x' amount of time. You can only have one bid per item ( i.e. you couldn't put two bids in for 2 book required, that is the only restriction. 1 bid to each book ). However if the book has been published twice ( i.e. Harper collins 1996 and another in say 1998, and is listed twice, then you could put in 1 bid for each of these editions ). I have done this with David Charters book. I wonder if advfn has thought about actually setting up a used book ordering scheme similar to amazon? It would be in their interests as they could skim off a transaction cost per item for facilitating the deal under secure terms. Cheers Deano | 2deano
15/8/2002 20:16 | Fast Player - 90% lose, so cant be all bad luck, must be something they are doing wrong as well. | count dino
14/8/2002 21:52 | 2deano, Ok hope you get lucky with the book you want. Do you know if they give you the option to extend if they don't find the book you want in the time period that you specify? Maybe we should start an ADVFN investment books wanted/for sale thread? I'm not sure if ADVFN would have any objections, as there's an obvious trust issue, ie do you send the money before they send you the book? There's probably loads of people on here that have books that they have finished with, and could either exchange, or sell for cash. Andy. | ahkeen
14/8/2002 20:49 | Sorry lexia I am not the person to ask best search the threads on here for comments about systems. Depends what you want it to do and live feeds or historical, or start athread asking for suggestions. ADVFN charts pretty good and www.bugcharts.com Good luck | count dino |
