FTSE 250 entry if that happens will push it higher imo. Can't begrudge anyone taking a profit though.

Well done if you made a profit. Chances are you are out too early, who knows though. My original investment thesis stands. This was an income play for me. At these levels it offers both income and growth. Happy days.

I'll stick with it, even if it flatlines for a while and we only get the chunky dividend ... shareprice is incredibly strong given recent corrections on FTSE, DOW etc.

Kelso update today reads well:
Market Review

The UK appears to be increasingly recognised as one of the best value countries in the world for equities. Takeover approaches continue and in May 2024 alone, XP Power Plc and Keywords Studios Plc both received £2bn+ cash offers at 70%+ premiums. Simultaneously, we are encouraged to see Boards taking a longer-term view of value potential and rejecting bid approaches that undervalue the company, Hargreaves Lansdowne Plc and Wood Group Plc being recent examples. Reducing outflows within UK equity funds clearly help these decisions, as investors do not require the cash from takeovers to fund redemptions. Reassuring and positive trading statements, which give investors confidence that the worst is over, are also delivering significant share price reactions. For example, BT Plc shares rose 18% and Future Plc shares increased by 22% in a day, both off the back of positive trading updates. UK market values are beginning to bounce back, closing the valuation gap, and we hope this momentum continues.

"Coming to the FTSE 250 index, Alpha Group International, Brunner Investment Trust, Liontrust Asset Management and XPS Pensions Group are likely to be added, along with Ocado Group and St. James's Place."

yes, I have some shares.

(imo recent news on takeovers is benificial for LIO fund performance, which might help attract new/more FUM inflow; & the takeover offer for competitor HL surely also makes LIO more valuable.
Although the speed & on-going power of the % rise at LIO surprises me.

recent takeover offers at higher prices at companies where LIO holds a notable investment include :- John Wood grp plc, Keywords Studios, any more ??
& I think LIO owns a chunk of shares at ACSO which is up 50% in the last 6-9 months.

charting
....many shares fall 20-50% when they announce unpopular news .....and the chart signals do not forewarn that, so, for me, chart signals are no g'tee of the future share price direction, of course.

A change in govt might be beneficial to the st mkt

Not sure what the fuss is about a man standing in the rain either, if it had been the other way around the same people would be winging. 🤪

Wally without a Brolly he was. Totally pathetic standing in the wet with a labour tune playing in the background! His advisors have obviously left the sinking ship as they ignored use of the £2m media room at No.10!

Felt like a submission, it's all over for the Tories. Doubt markets are going to wobble.

Unless Labour come out with a total surprise during the election (unlikely IMO given their poll lead) I think a change of regime is pretty well priced in and the markets will be driven by actual figures.

On the contrary, uncertainty of waiting for months removed and markets expect a huge labour win. Starmer will have to woo business to get UK moving along.

Cable hardly moved, so no panic in the markets imo.

No sign of the down-ticker today - perhaps they have finally decided to go long (if you can't beat 'em, join 'em). Though shame they've missed the first 30-40% of the recovery ;-)
