Autocentres.A very kind offer ,but I'm going back 5 years plus.I dont think they'd be interested. They made their £75 goodwill payment to get rid of me and I doubt if they can go back on that.I consider the matter closed....but I DONT FORGET.

Mr Elbee - could you please confirm whether your grudge is against "LEX VEHICLE LEASING (LVL)" or "LEX AUTOCENTRES"?

These are two seperately run companies run within the Lex Service Group.

I think what my friend Stantheman is saying is that LVL is a very good company and Lex Autocentres are not so good.

I cannot comment on either statements.

Mr Elbee - please email me at nigeladvfn@aol.com and I will do what I can for you sir.

Personally I don't believe that the CO2 taxation will hit the Contract Hire as much as some people thing.

Yes those driving around in the big saloons like Audi A6 & A8, and huge Volo S80 and the Merc's etc will find themselves in vehicles that the tax has doubled or even trebled, but those salesman or reps or the 'professional' driver will not be hit has hard as they imagine. They will still get teh BMW 3 series, Mondeo's, Vectra's and Focus, this is where the bread and butter of the business lies not in the bug luxury saloons. People can of course move over to LPG and Diesel vehicles as they are now becoming more and more available. Also one of the advantages of a company car is the hasle free of servicing and insurance ( OneCall package from Lex lets the garage pick the car from the drivers home or place of work and then return vehicle ).

Any way the fleet size has begun to rise after 2 years dropping and is now at it's highest it has ever been, this is after the government has told everyone about the changes, so again I say it won't have the effect that you think it will. IMOH

Stantheman, I have edited the above post as it apprears that LEX are not SETS traded.

You are "once again" forgetting that LEX SERVICE is a big company which includes FAR MORE than just LVL.

I would like to ask you how much you know about the current performance of the following companies which come under the LEX SERVICE umbrella?

Lex Autocentres
Isuzu Truck
Hyundai Car UK
Lex Harvey
Lex Multipart
Lex Komatsu Forklift (UK)
Lex Commercials
Lex Hydraulic Services
Lex Distribution
Lex Transfleet
Isuzu Truck
Hyundai Car UK
RAC

I thank you kind sir.

Apart from not knowing the difference between 'MM' and 'SETS' which I have just read through the glossary area of the help page, for which I thank you for pointing out my error ..................could you explauin 'rubbish' or do you know something that I don't about the companies figures that are to be released this coming month.

Also do you know more about the disposal price's of the vehicles through 'CAP' or 'Auction' that I have totally mis read.

Stantheman - rubbish.

I do not think that the MMs would bother "playing" LEX shares around, they have better things to do.

In what way do you think they are 'playing with' them?

Unfortunately the MM's are playing this stock at present so I think we have a trading base of 500 low and a high of around 550 which seems to be a resistance level at present.

I personally think that people are selling for profits since the year low of 450p but they should have kept hold of their stake for at least another couple of weeks.

When the figures for the year are relased they should show a nice profit for the year and that the provision of £45m was a good move in the year ended 1999 to cater for the possibility of the second hand prices falling lower than expected. The latter hasn't happened has much as thought so hopefully there should be some monies from this provision back into the yearly figures. This in addition for the Yearly sales of new cars for 2001 being an all time high should go well for the lambing season in April and May.

I haven't forgotten that 'Lex Services' is an umbrella for a number of companies, you have actually missed 'Lex Vehicle Leasing' unless it has been renamed without me being told by ...........John Walden.

As you may be aware Lex Vehicle Leasing is owned by both Halifax and Lex Services in an equal partnership and has contributed the bulk of all profit that Lex Services have enjoyed for at least the last 5 years.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on those listed as it could be construed as inside information which is not allowed.

All's I can talk about is what has been publicly released and what others have talked about on this BB.

Survice to say I am holding onto to my share options released in December.

But I will say this ......... wait for the lambing season.

Well with all those orange vans going around the country I cannot see any lambs being sheared - not this time any way. I could spill the beans about changing my name but that is telling all.

The euro no not yet.........I see that the agreements that where talked about last summer are only just starting to gain momentum and the european side of those talks haven't started.

I think the merger with Halifax and Bank of Scotland is good for LEX as the Godrey Davis tie up will happen over the next 6 months or so with us all being under a new umbrella come the April showers.

As long as those little lambs don't get sheared in summer!

Gains need to be maintained.

Out of interest, do you see the Euro affecting the group in any way?

Looks like this is going to start moving northwards now that XMAS is out of the way.

I see this going to at least new highs of 650p by easter and possibly 750 if the lambing season produces the right lamb.

Once the results are released over the next couple of weeks then they will start to rise so get in now before it's too late.

Fair enough - but I think you know who I mean. I found out from a big cheese named Robert (RW). I am not about to name names on this BB, but I CAN say that LVL seem to be doing ok, from what I hear.
