07/11/2001 00:57 | Stanley, with the greatest of respect, I can see your point of view but I feel that you are forgetting the bigger picture. LVL is only a small part of the "Lex Service" group, all parts of the business need to perform if Lex Service is to be a winner in the long term. For those of you who do not know, the following constituents make up "Lex Service PLC" : Lex Vehicle Leasing Lex Autocentres Isuzu Truck Hyundai Car UK Lex Harvey Lex Multipart Lex Komatsu Forklift (UK) Lex Commercials Lex Hydraulic Services Lex Distribution Lex Transfleet Isuzu Truck Hyundai Car UK RAC (Which Incorporates BSM Driving Schools) Autowindscreens (Recently acquired) Jon Walden is only MD of Lex Vehicle Leasing, not the whole Lex group. | uglyboatrace
04/11/2001 14:34 | Don't think so matey - read the RNS and you will see that Trevor is retiring soon, he is simply being sensible, not keepig all his eggs in one basket. Lex is a definite buy - trust me, £10 price target (2 years) IMO | uglyboatrace
03/11/2001 14:08 | I THINK ITS A SHORT UGLY | moonblue

31/10/2001 00:13 | This co is now a proven player in the marketplace and will go on to better things, MOD, RAC contracts etc etc, past performance is no indication but you should take it into account, the research I have in this company would suggest that the experiences of mr.elbee are a thing of the past!!!!!!!. STORMY PS. DYOR!!!!!!!!!. | onlyonestorm
31/10/2001 00:07 | Agree, but there are always individual/small examples of problems in any major company - think the vast majority is the key, as is problem solving when thay do occur. Agree though, good Co. I know them very well and a lot of the top guys | newstarter
31/10/2001 00:03 | NewStarter Ignore mr.elbee me thinks hes lost the plot, never mind its all good fun!. STORMY | onlyonestorm
31/10/2001 00:01 | I don't, but believe me, they are a very good company - I should know, I am a major customer | newstarter
30/10/2001 13:00 | Like uglyboatrace you have guesed that I do work for Lex and this this site I would never dream of putting anything here that has not been broadcast to the whole work force. NewStarter thanks for the vote - Lex Vehicle leasing may have had it's problems a number of years ago and when I arrived in 1997 there where a few who thought that the employee's didn't care. It has changed since Jon Walden has returned at the helm and the company is now beginning to reap the rewards that it always promised it would. It can be said that in any organisation you get the odd problem that will never go away irrespective of how much effort is put in to get it resolved. I am sorry Mr Elbee feels the way he does but alls I can say is that I would recoommed LVL to any friend and have when it comes to 99.9% of deals are 'A OK'. It's a good company to work for and it will become a 'World Class' company if JW has anything to do with it. ADYOR | akastantheman
30/10/2001 11:44 | Shall I take that as a no then?You do work for them. | mr.elbee

30/10/2001 11:36 | ONLYONESTORM Nothing wrong with the cars I'm buying...just the company. You dont work for them by any chance? Remember these are REAL events not imagination like your ... awards!! | mr.elbee
29/10/2001 17:38 | mr.elbee, perhaps you should look at the type of cars you are buying?. STORMY | onlyonestorm
29/10/2001 17:10 | Oh I forgot to tell you. They wrecked the wife's car as well. The brakes just didnt work.Sent out a car in a dangerous condition. If I hadnt picked up the car for her she wouldnt be here now. | mr.elbee
29/10/2001 14:54 | Mr Elbee. Has far as I am aware none of the 'onecall' or 'maintenance' staff are on commission against what work they do. There are some right terriors working in that department who are very customer focused and would take any of the sales staff whom you may be referring too to the cleaners if thats the way it truely happened. The 'onecall' and 'maintenance' staff win so many customer awards its fantastic and what you have said looks like a problem with the 'GARAGE' rather than LVL though I agree at the end of the day it's down to customer satisfaction which LEX have been winning against all the othe contract hire companies hands down for the last 3 three years. | akastantheman
29/10/2001 13:48 | mr.elbee, I think you summed it up in your 1st sentence, "a few years ago", much has changed since then LEX is going north my friend, its on a mission so get on board. STORMY. PS. DYOR!!!!!!!!!. | onlyonestorm
29/10/2001 13:33 | stanley yap OK HERE WE GO a few years ago they 1.failed to drain the engine and fill it properly..it blew up.blocked strainers. 2.failed to connect the petrol overflow 5 gallons over the station forecourt 3.brakes not working and dangerous after service. 4.water pump incorrectly diagnosed. All this was itemised and sent to the MD.They werent bleedin' remotely interested.I went to the trade association..I took legal advice in the end I got 75 quid goodwill. But I remember..and so should you.The problem is the way they pay their staff..mostly commission so when your car is being serviced..you represent an additional 300 quid targets? familiar any one.??But PRECISELY BECAUSE THE COMPANY IS RUN THIS WAY it will succeed.Buy.[BUT DONT TAKE YOUR OLD CAR THERE] | mr.elbee
29/10/2001 13:15 | Back to the top guys - another small rise today. | uglyboatrace

28/10/2001 13:40 | Lex are doing well at the moment - they have a good solid base and are growing at a magnificent rate - BUY. | uglyboatrace
27/10/2001 12:01 | I have got to agree with Stanley there - the MOD contracts which LVL have achieved only go to show what a quality outfit they are IMO. 3 Year price target of "at least" £10 - and I do not feel I am placing my head on the block. As for FTSE 100 company within a year, a little optimistic I feel, seeing as the present market cap is only £657m - but I am as bullish about this company's prespects as the next man - a cracking outfit. | uglyboatrace
27/10/2001 09:38 | stormy From what I know the £45m provionsal write against disposals lasy year has not been totally required. I have heard that the profit after disposals is above plan and that in addition to the monies not required to covered the losses originally envisaged against CAP prices will show an even healthier profit come year end. I know I may be placing my head on the block but investors have in the past been shafted by the company hiding things from staff etc but I can tell you this Jon Walden MD of LVL is open and very honest he has quarterly communication meetings with all staff from post room clerk to general manager. There is a good team being built at LEX and especially LVL. aka stantheman adyor | stanleyap
26/10/2001 19:10 | stanleyap up again this week, should have some news this weekend, if I do I will post. STORMY | onlyonestorm |
