09/6/2020 12:40 | Downgrade by Merrill Lynch. | woodhawk
09/6/2020 12:38 | Can anyone explain why L&G took such a bashing today compared with a relatively small fall in the market? I am hoping for a continued rally this afternoon to recover at least some of the fall in share price | clunes100
09/6/2020 12:38 | LGEN "Downgraded to ‘neutral’ | woodhawk
09/6/2020 10:22 | I think it makes it more interesting if you can invest in companies that you have an interest in, but don't get emotionally attached. I'm 30% cash right now. Thats high for me - with COVID still ongoing plus the forthcoming Brexit mess and US election I can't see the general markets being a lot higher by the year end. I've had a good run over the last 6 weeks (particularly last week) and I have turned far more cautious. | dr biotech
09/6/2020 10:06 | Nice to read your posts. As you may know LGEN has always had a large presence in Hove and I know people who work for this great employer. One reason why I m invested here.Ricardo a great engineering company is down the road in Shoreham. Struggling a bit as all car exposed shares.I always like to invest with companies with local input. We also Have AMEX in Brighton. The largest Private sector employer.Another good employer. | washbear

07/6/2020 19:54 | Pvb I don’t need to replace anything ,those who know me well ,I do everything for fun now ,Ive lived in a house in the centre of London for decades ,I also have a flat on Brighton seafront where I am hibernating now ,I have many friends who will do very well out of me ,since the lockdown I am putting a plan together to give most of my bequests now ,the only problem I have is to live seven years ,I hope it will sort itself out soon ,if you can retire get on and do it don’t wait like I’ve done it’s pure stupidity ,anyway good luck to you in all you do ,when you reach my age you will understand what I have said , | alangriffbang
07/6/2020 19:37 | Um... Might be an idea to consider replacing individual shares (and adviser?) with a couple of (or even one) Investment Trusts? Just a thought. Good luck to you too. | pvb
07/6/2020 08:57 | To add, my wife of fifty years had a massive stroke in 2015 and died in 2917 she had her own portfolio with her financial adviser ,after she died I inherited all her portfolio and landed up with 23 different shares ,I don’t have a living relative left now ,so the most it will do for me is to pay for a very good nursing home ,I’ve never had so much money and needed so little ,good luck | alangriffbang
07/6/2020 08:23 | My financial adviser dealt with it all I am eighty one years old and I pay him handsomely to deal with a large portfolio ,good luck pvb, | alangriffbang

06/6/2020 18:38 | Pierre - me too - all a bit like the cat that got the cream - surreal!. | skinny
06/6/2020 15:32 | smicker - I'm a long term holder here. I must admit I'm currently reducing my exposure to individual shares due to the continuing risk of dividend cuts. For dividend income I'm spreading the risk by moving to Investment Trusts (HHI, HFEL & MRCH). I consider L&G to be one of my least risky individual holdings. | zac0_4
06/6/2020 14:47 | Possibly the loss of dividend income from previous stalwarts will force institutions to value the income stream here more highly. Lower interest rates also may force a move to higher yielding shares to compensate. I'd held this previously and suffered a cut in 2008 and have always been underweight since. Now they haven't cut i have increased to an overweight allocation | smicker
06/6/2020 08:25 | Amazing really....we could buy this share cheaper last year....does the outlook for the next two years really look better than it did last year??? | renewed1
05/6/2020 22:37 | I'd been considering bailing out for a day or three but as usual, dithered about getting the right 'time to sell signal'. Actually, I've a feeling today's action was just that. Of course it rose right into the close and I just couldn't bring myself to hit the sell button. We'll see what Monday brings. | cassini
05/6/2020 19:33 | I sold a chunk of these yesterday, should have waited a day, cost me 500. Still will hold on to the rest. It’s been a great week for financials. | dr biotech
05/6/2020 17:46 | Buywell is having buywell's roots touched up and dyed blue. I've been through some stock market crashes, and this is the best one so far! | pierre oreilly |
