Its starting to look like 'just another day at the office' rise. |
Topping up - great company, cheap as chips - excellent news. excellent valuation, just against the background of a falling market ... |
Looking at todays chart, it's like watching a plane crash play out - The fun though is whether it'll actually stay in the blue sky or end up underwater in the red.
Place yer bets.

Happy to add a few more here. Overall I think this deal should bode well for the share price and divi is safe as houses! |
Don't want to put a dampener on things but still a gap to fill here, one at 236/7 and one at 225 |
the world is full of hybristically ignorant c..ts |
Just bring back the UK tax credit on divis that Brown abolished The Aussies still have it and their pension funds own a huge amount of their stock market Wouldn't hold breath for that to happen never mind simply abolishing stamp duty |
Take any investment bank/PE house or mega tech firm and that applies to about half the workforce |
Selling of a small part of their business, the damage to profits won't be great It's dillutive to divi cover if the earnings yield it was sold at was greater than the divi yield Sell at a higher PE/lower earnings yield than the DY and buy back and you actually increase the divi cover |
Instead of bullying Pension Funds to prop up the UK Market, the Gov should be trying to incentivise individuals to invest in British companies along the lines of maybe something like an additional £20k pa British ISA.
Oh, hang on........ |
You've never owned any US tech stocks then |
It's the FTSE Don't worry It'll be cheap |
you can now understand why peeps voted for bone spurs
the world is full of hybristically ignorant c..ts |
Typical UK equity markets Ended up buying back what I sold at the open Not usually a day trader |
Skimmed some at 257 and some from Bats to make up my ISA contribution for this year. Not far away now and who knows what tomorrow will bring. By seventy everything should be in there if I live that long and Rachael doesn’t wreck that as well. |
Have made half a top up and will shove in the rest if the gaps fills
Strange action today for sure, this was and is fantastic news |
Turning into a right damp squib of a day lol. |
Thanks - yep that’s my point £90m of operating profit… That’s a long way from profits available to distribution. Anyways. I , like many are probably fully maxed here for passive income, it’s safer today. |
& in time they may buy more of the company. |
I'm hoping this rise is short lived as I need to max out three isas in two months time with these shares and then leave it there for 10 years. |
As Gary1966 implied, its not as simple as some sort of windfall for investors and I doubt many pi’s have actually gone through the financials to see the net effect on earnings of selling a profitable part of the business. I certainly haven’t got the time to delve, so in the end just have to trust those in charge to make sensible strategic moves. |
To be honest, I hold SHED as well as WHR & BBOX and they all show a very similar chart over the period that you mention.
adejuk - let's hope so. |
